It's back to Oslo! In American Airlines Business Class in the Boeing 777-300ER we fly first to London Heathrow. The JFK Airport Train takes us from Jamaica Station to Terminal 8. American Airlines, Air Berlin and LATAM also fly from here.
Special flight: With the Lufthansa Siegerfluger to the ILA 2016
It's Saturday morning just before seven o'clock. I'm standing in Terminal 1B at counter 494 at Frankfurt Airport, checking in for a very special flight. A Boeing 747-8 is going to the ILA – Berlin Air Show! That alone is highlight enough. But Lufthansa is going one step further and is flying the "winning plane", which flew our national team from Rio de Janeiro to the ILA 2016 in Berlin in 2014, to the trade fair.

DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur
As an HHonors Gold member, we had three hotels from the Hilton group to choose from for our stay in Kuala Lumpur. Due to the good price-performance ratio and the central location, we chose the DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur. You can find out what our impression of the hotel was in this review.
Berjaya Langkawi Resort
Our second hotel on the island of Langkawi was the Berjaya Langkawi Resort. When we arrived at 2 p.m., our room or the Rainforest Chalet we had booked was not yet ready. The process at reception was very unprofessional for a 4-star hotel and took forever. Maybe we were just unlucky with the staff.
The Danna Langkawi
After landing on the dream island of Langkawi, our personal shuttle service from the hotel The Danna Langkawi awaited us at the airport. They took our luggage and escorted us to the car. During the ride we got drinks and a cool towel to freshen up. Even if our journey from Singapore wasn't that long, something refreshing is always good in the heat.
The Danna Langkawi – Straits & Co
Das kleine schöne Café Restaurant Straits & Co gehört zum Hotel The Danna Langkawi. Hier werden sowohl lokale als auch westliche Snacks und Hauptgerichte serviert. Egal ob drinnen oder draußen, in den von Wasserläufen umgebenen Patios, die Stimmung ist eher entspannt und locker. Ein Gericht kostet zwischen 40 und 50 MYR (um die 10 EUR) und liegt somit vollkommen im preislichen Rahmen. Für den kleinen Mittagssnack oder den großen Mittagshunger ist hier auf jeden Fall etwas dabei.
The Danna Langkawi – The Planter’s
Das The Planter’s ist ein edles Restaurant mit Blick auf den Infinity Pool des Hotel The Danna Langkawi und die Andaman See. Neben dem ausgiebigen Frühstück für die Hotelgäste, gibt es abends eine große Auswahl an mediterranen, europäisch inspirierten und lokaler Speisen mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Qualität, Stil und Präsentation.

Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto International
Air Canada's Maple Leaf lounge network includes over 20 lounges worldwide. Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) hosts three of these, one serving domestic, one serving international (i.e. flights to the US) and one serving international gates. We visited the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto International in January 2017 before flying Air Canada to London.
United Club Seattle
United Airlines lounges have historically not been famous for their decor and food and beverage offerings. However, since the introduction of the new “Polaris” Business Class, United Clubs have started to renovate and improve the service offering. The United Club Seattle was one of the first lounges to feature the new design. You can find out more about our stay in January 2017 in the review.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge A-Gates Frankfurt
We quite often spend our waiting time in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge A-Gates Frankfurt. The lounge is very busy, especially during the week, so it has never worked to take photos for a review. When we came back from Barcelona on a Saturday evening, we were almost the only guests, so I took the chance to take a closer look around.
Business Lounge at Katowice Airport
In terms of passengers, Katowice Airport is the third largest airport in Poland. Lufthansa currently offers a total of 21 flights a week. For your own airport lounge, the number is too small and you use the contract lounge in Terminal B. You will find out in our review that a visit to the business lounge at Katowice Airport is still worthwhile.

Founded in 1167 by Archbishop Absalon, Copenhagen with “only” about 580,000 inhabitants is actually a rather small capital compared to other European metropolises. But that's exactly what makes it so charming! It gives you a very homely feeling, even if you are there for the first time. Im Orchideengarten Kuala Lumpurs (Taman Orkid) sind rund 800, teilweise seltene Orchideenarten zu bestaunen. Der Garten ist täglich von 9 bis 18 Uhr geöffnet. Mit dem LRT (Light-rail engl. Leichtbahn, Stadtbahnsystem) sind wir bis zur Station Pasar Sein gefahren und dort über den Bahnhof und mehrere Straßen Richtung Perdana Botanical Garden gelaufen.
