Air Canada's Maple Leaf lounge network includes over 20 lounges worldwide. Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) hosts three of these, one serving domestic, one serving international (i.e. flights to the US) and one serving international gates. We visited the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto International in January 2017 before flying Air Canada to London.

Where is the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto International located?

After our arrival with Air Canada aus SeattleWe had to go through passport control and subsequent security check before our onward flight to London. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto couldn't be missed as it was right at the end of the aisle. As a departing passenger from Toronto, the lounge is on the second floor.

Who has access to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto International?

Access is available to passengers traveling in Star Alliance Business Class or First Class, who are Star Alliance Gold members and have selected credit cards.

How is the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto International equipped?

The lounge area consisted of two slightly offset levels. In the lower area or directly after the reception desk there was a large dining area with a buffet and plenty of tables and chairs. Various seating areas were available on the second level. These were separated by islands which were either equipped with a bar or several televisions. There was also a relaxation area at the back of the lounge, a separate room for meetings and two showers. Since the Maple Leaf Lounge is built in the middle of Terminal 1, an unobstructed view of the apron was unfortunately not possible.

There were only two sockets in each seating area for our electrical devices. These were positioned in the middle between the opposite armchairs. Your power cable should be a little longer. However, there were also several sockets and even USB slots in the high tables at the drinks buffet. Other amenities in the lounge included a business center with computer workstations and free and sufficiently fast WiFi.

What to eat and drink at the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto International?

The offer differed from that Transborder Lounge only through a selection of warm dishes. During our stay there were two different ravioli, a paella and a mashed potato. A small selection of salads and dressings was also offered.

The selection of drinks was very good. There were several spirits, white and red wines and four different types of beer (only the Canadian is enjoyable in my opinion). The highlight was a station for mixing margaritas yourself. Soft drinks were available from the machine or in cans from the refrigerator. A WMF fully automatic coffee machine was also available for caffeine management.

Summary

The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Toronto International has done a lot of things right. The lounge, with typical wood paneling accents, is spacious and makes good use of the available space. The slightly offset levels and the various islands create smaller seating areas. The food and drinks on offer correspond to the standard and are plentiful.
