The marhaba Lounge in Singapore Terminal 1 is one of the lounges at Singapore Changi Airport that is open to many travellers – whether they hold a business class ticket, are members of a lounge programme, or pay for access. We visited it before our flight to find out whether it offers a relaxing alternative to the terminal or falls short of expectations.
The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is one of the best airport hotels in the world and has won several awards at the Skytrax World Airport Awards. It is located directly at Singapore Changi Airport. We tested the hotel for one night before our return journey and report on the booking, location and rooms in this review. For our stay, we deliberately sought a hotel that was not located in the tourist centre, but was still well connected and offered a high level of comfort. Our long-haul flight with Turkish Airlines Economy Class on the Airbus A350 took us from Istanbul to Singapore. At 06:10 on 22 July 2016, the Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900 landed in the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital for the first time and was traditionally greeted with a water fountain. From now on, the renowned five-star airline will be connecting Düsseldorf Airport with its hub in Singapore three times a week non-stop. I was lucky enough to be on the inaugural Singapore Airlines Business Class flight in the Airbus A350-900 from Düsseldorf.
Starting July 21, 2016, Düsseldorf will be the third German city served by Singapore Airlines. The non-stop flights to and from Singapore will be operated with the new Airbus A350-900. We will be present on the inaugural Düsseldorf-Singapore flight of the latest addition to the Singapore Airlines fleet.

After checking out of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur, we travelled by LRT and KLIA Express to the international airport. The journey took an hour in total, with a short wait at KL Sentral. We flew to Singapore with an airline that was new to me - Jetstar Asia Economy Class.
