BER Lounge Tegel

BER Lounge Tegel

The BER Lounge Tegel at Berlin Brandenburg Airport offers travellers a relaxing break before departure. Whether you're a status customer or with a Priority Pass – those who have access benefit from a solid range of food, comfortable seating areas and good Wi-Fi. Here we show where the lounge is located, who has access and what you can expect in terms of equipment, food and drink.

Where is the BER Lounge Tegel located?

After the security check, we went directly to the BER Lounge Tegel. It is located in Terminal 1 of Berlin Brandenburg Airport, on level E1, opposite Gate B17 and in the immediate vicinity of the Lufthansa Lounges. You can get to the B-Gates by going through the security check and the duty free shop to the right pier. The highly visible signage makes it easy for even first-time visitors to find their way around.

Access to the lounge is very easy: either by elevator or via a short flight of stairs. Once at the top, you have to show your boarding pass briefly. In our case, we were also able to use our Priority Pass. The lounge is open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Who has access to the BER Lounge Tegel?

Access to the BER Lounge Tegel is not only granted to frequent flyers with status. If you want to treat yourself to a relaxing break before departure, you can easily book lounge access online in advance - or, if available, directly on site at the reception. Payment is made conveniently by EC or credit card, the price is currently 36 euros per person. Children up to their 3rd birthday have free access to the lounge. Since November 2024, Priority Pass holders have also had free admission – provided they can present a valid boarding pass for the same day.

The lounge also cooperates with selected airlines such as Air France, KLM, Finnair and SAS. Passengers travelling in Business Class on these airlines or with the corresponding frequent flyer status can use the lounge free of charge, as the airline pays the fee. Further information and the Possibility to reserve access in advance can be found on the official website of the airport.

How is the BER Lounge Tegel equipped?

The BER Lounge Tegel is compact, but well thought out. Directly behind the reception, turn left into the lounge area. First you come across a small TV corner with comfortable armchairs. Right behind it is a separate meeting room, which can only be booked for an extra charge. This room is ideal for those who want to have an uninterrupted conversation or hold a short meeting before their flight.

The somewhat hidden work niches behind the meeting room offered a quieter atmosphere, but unfortunately were already occupied when we arrived. We continued to a central dining area, where lounge chairs and dining tables were cleverly combined. Right next to it was the buffet, which formed the culinary center of the lounge with its diverse offer. Along the windows there was an area with high tables and dining tables, perfect for sitting and working while enjoying the natural light.

A little further back we discovered the smoking lounge and the relaxation area. Both rooms were pleasantly quiet and offered a welcome change from the hustle and bustle. Out of consideration for other guests, however, we did not take any photos there.

The furniture was really versatile: lounge chairs, bar stools and classic chairs, which offered the right space for every taste and every need. However, a slight downside was that some seats didn't have power outlets, which could be inconvenient for frequent travelers who work on their laptops. On the positive side, the wifi at the airport worked well. In addition, there were private toilets and, according to the operator, even showers.

What is there to eat and drink in the BER Lounge Tegel?

The BER Lounge Tegel offered a simple but solid breakfast buffet in the early morning. Fresh rolls, croissants, pretzels and various types of cake were available, supplemented by sweet spreads, sausage, cheese and Nuremberg sausages. For a healthy start, there was a selection of fruit, yoghurt, muesli and cereals. Everything was clearly arranged and was regularly replenished.

There was also no shortage of drinks in the lounge. Soft drinks, water, juices and Beck's beer were available in two refrigerators. In addition, there was a tap system with Beck's and Franziskaner Hefeweissbier. Those who preferred coffee could choose between two fully automatic coffee machines. In addition, there were various white, red and rosé wines as well as sparkling wine from Henkel in the morning. The selection of spirits was also well stocked, but was skipped by us at that time.

Summary

The BER Lounge Tegel offers a solid breakfast, an above-average selection of drinks and pleasant seating areas. Despite a well-filled lounge on Sunday morning, we found a place without any problems. The cleanliness is in need of improvement. For Priority Pass holders or guests with lounge access, the visit is worthwhile – if you have to pay 36 euros, you should weigh up how much time is left until boarding.
