Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur

Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur

Unfortunately, after more than a week, our stay in Malaysia came to an end. Before we went to Bangkok via Singapore with Singapore Airlines, we were able to relax in the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur before departure. You can find out what the lounge in the international departures area of Terminal 1 has to offer and how to get access in our lounge review.

Where is Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur located?

The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur is in the international departures area of Terminal 1. Immediately after passport control and another customs check, access to the lounge is at the beginning of gate area G. The lounge itself is then located on the upper floor, which can be accessed via an escalator . The route to the lounge is well signposted. The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur shares the reception area with the First Class Lounge of the same name, which unfortunately has a better view of the apron.

Who has access to Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur?

We had access to the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur through our flight ticket in Business Class from Kuala Lumpur. In addition, with the Priority Pass, which is available in the American Express Platinum credit card included, had free access and could have brought a guest with them. If you don't have any of the above options, you can also access the lounge via the official website acquire. At the time of our lounge review, the entry price for 2 hours was 194 MYR (approx. 40 EUR).

How is the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur equipped?

The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur has a modern design and different seating options. Immediately after the entrance there is a seating area on the left with various leather armchairs. In the central area, visually divided by wood and metal decorations, is the restaurant area with tables, chairs and benches. The area is also broken up by several plants. At the back of the lounge there is a room called the Living Room, which is quieter than the other seating areas in the lounge. There were enough power outlets and charging options in each seating area.

In general it was very loud in the lounge, even though various structural measures were taken. If you want to escape the noise and relax in a private atmosphere before departure, the lounge offers private meeting rooms. However, the prices for this are very high at 2000 MYR (approx. 400 EUR) per hour.

What to eat and drink at Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur?

The food selection was OK for a contract lounge. During our stay, the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur offered various dishes for breakfast in the morning. In addition to cornflakes, scrambled eggs and bacon, there was salad and various cakes. Other warm dishes and Malaysian specialties were freshly prepared in a live kitchen.

We found the range of drinks on offer somewhat disappointing. There was a bar with various cocktails, spirits, beer and wine. However, these had to be paid and the prices were between 34-50 MYR (6-10 EUR). In addition, there was only water and orange juice and a vending machine for soft drinks. What was negative was that unfortunately there were only plastic cups for the drinks.

Summary

The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur was definitely better than waiting at the gate. We liked the modern design of the seating areas. Unfortunately it was very loud and apart from a few skylights there was no daylight. The range of food and drinks was also somewhat poor, despite the open kitchen and bar.
