Hampton by Hilton Swinemünde

The Hotel Hampton by Hilton Świnoujście is located in the center of Świnoujście (Swinemünde), not far from the promenade and the Baltic Sea beach. When we were looking for a hotel for our vacation on Usedom, the decision was easy for us as Hilton HHonors status customers. Below we would like to give our opinion on the Hampton by Hilton Świnoujście.

Booking, arrival and check-in

Since 2014, almost all hotels in the Hilton group have been able to check in via app 24 hours before arrival. This has the advantage that you can choose your room yourself based on the hotel floor plan shown. The area surrounding the hotel is also displayed so that you can possibly decide on the side facing away from the street. Unfortunately, only rooms on the street side were available for our stay. But I found a room on the fourth and top floor (number 401), which was very large in the floor plan. If you looked at the floors below the fourth, there were two small rooms marked on the same area.

The reception at the hotel was in English and was quick and friendly. We were given room 401, which I had pre-selected. As “My Way Hotel Benefits” we were allowed to choose a drink and a snack from the hotel shop. We then took the elevator to the 4th. Our room was opposite the elevators, but you couldn't hear them because there was still some air space in between.

Where is Hampton by Hilton Świnoujście located?

The hotel is located in a new development area. In the immediate vicinity are the Swinemünde Centrum train station (departure of the Usedomer Bäderbahn), several restaurants and the foothills of the “Polenmarkt”. A supermarket is also within walking distance. The beach and promenade can be reached on foot in 20 minutes.

Hotel guests have the opportunity to park their car in the underground car park. The hotel charges 40 PLN (approx. 10 EUR) per day. However, during our stay there was plenty of free parking available right outside the door.

What are the rooms like at Hampton by Hilton Świnoujście?

When we opened the door to our room we were overwhelmed by the size. The dark wood veneer furniture looked very modern. Behind the door was a three-door wardrobe with five shelves and a section with a hanging rail. To the left of the entrance was the bathroom, which was separated from the rest of the room by a sliding door with a frosted glass element. The large shower had dispensers for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The sink was surrounded by granite. It could have a little more storage space.

In the room itself there was a large mirror, a sideboard with a television and a desk with a table lamp and two sockets on the right side. In the left part of the room was the bed and a sofa bed. The queen size bed was pleasantly firm, but not very wide. But sleeping for two was quite possible. The children's bed in a great pirate design, which we had pre-ordered by email, was already in the room. However, we didn't need the beautiful children's bed linen for our 4 1/2 month old son yet. The room faced the street, but despite the cobblestones, the traffic could hardly be heard. But that could also be due to the constant noise of the air conditioning.

Das WLAN war für alle Gäste kostenlos. Man musste sich nur regelmäßig mit Zimmernummer und Nachnamen anmelden. Ein schnelleres Internet für Statusgäste wurde nicht angeboten, war aber aufgrund der hohen verfügbaren Geschwindigkeit (Download 34,46 Mb/s & 45,26 Mb/s) auch nicht notwendig.

There were enough power sockets in the hotel room. Please note that socket type E is used in Poland. The flat Euro plugs (so-called Type C) fit easily. However, the thicker Schuko plugs can only be used if there is an additional hole for the middle contact pin.

How is breakfast at Hampton by Hilton Świnoujście?

Breakfast was served in the restaurant in the lobby. The room was nicely decorated. Warm colors and lots of wood dominated. On every table there was a vase with a fresh flower. There were enough seats. Tables were already set exclusively for HHonors members, including a basket with jam, honey and Nutella. There was room for improvement in the service. Unfortunately, the dishes used were not cleared away during breakfast.

On the buffet on the right there were warm dishes such as pancakes, scrambled eggs with bacon and sausages. On the left there was a well-arranged salad bar with cheese, various cereals and yogurt as well as a waffle station with various toppings. Toast, croissants, cheese and sausage were offered on the two middle buffet islands. At a self-service bar you had to provide yourself with orange juice, apple juice, water and coffee. Unfortunately there was no coffee machine, just two large warming containers for filter coffee. This one was a little watery.

What does the Hampton by Hilton Świnoujście offer for relaxation?

The hotel has a gym, a meeting room and a computer corner with three PCs and a printer. At the reception there was a small shop for cold drinks and snacks. The prices were moderate.
