Old Montreal

Bonsecours

This morning we drove into Montreal again, to the old town. Some parking is possible here on the side of the road, but most are with parking meters (max. 2 hours each for $6). But this is still cheaper than the surrounding car parks.

Basilika Notre-Dame of Montreal

First we visited the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Montréal. It is located on Rue Notre-Dame and looks very nice from the outside. Unfortunately we can't judge it from the inside as it costs admission and everything was packed with Asian tourist groups.

City Hall

Then we walked to City Hall, also called Hôtel de Ville, which is nearby. The building is built in the Second Empire style and is really impressive. The Bonsecours market, where we walked to afterwards, is a great old house with stylish shops inside. It's definitely worth walking through once, even if, like us, you don't buy anything.

Are you still looking for a suitable hotel in Montreal?

You can find a hotel that suits your budget through the various online travel agencies such as Agoda,Booking.com,ebookers.de,Expedia,Hotels.com,lastminute.de, otel.com or Venere.com.

After countless attempts to find a cache in Montréal, we met a nice Australian couple at the old port, who weren't very successful at caching either. But you also have to say that it was really difficult, with the sparse descriptions (sometimes only in French)! But together we found what we were looking for at the port.
