Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark is one of two Lufthansa lounges. Before my return flight to Copenhagen with SAS, I used the time at the airport to visit the lounge.

The Scandinavian airline SAS operates its own lounge at various airports in the USA. On our way back from a short trip to New York City, we visited the SAS Lounge Newark before the late afternoon rush. In this lounge review, I will share my experiences and impressions of the amenities and food and beverage offerings, and whether a visit is worthwhile.
My last trip before the corona pandemic broke out took me to Los Angeles in December 2019. Before I returned to Stockholm with SAS, I had some time to spend in the Star Alliance Business Lounge in Los Angeles. I was really looking forward to it because this airport lounge is considered one of the best Star Alliance Gold Lounges in the USA.
Every year I try to escape the hustle and bustle of mulled wine on the German Christmas markets, but also the gloomy December weather. This time there was a cheap offer with SAS Plus to Los Angeles. On the one hand, I was able to soak up some sun, on the other hand, thanks to the good yield of frequent flyer miles, my Star Alliance Gold status was almost extended. So I flew on St. Nicholas Day 2019 in SAS Plus in the Airbus A330-300 to Los Angeles. In the following trip report you will find out what service and what equipment you can expect in the premium economy from SAS over long distances.
In addition to airline lounges, such as the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, some airports also offer contract or specialty lounges. One of these special lounges is the American Express Centurion Lounge San Francisco. You can find out how we gained access to "The Centurion Lounge" and what our experience was like in our lounge review.
Last August, Robert from robisintheair.de asked me if I'd like to fly with him to San Francisco on SAS Go in an Airbus A340-300. At a price of just under €200, I didn't have to think twice before accepting. You can find out what service is offered on the 11-hour flight in SAS Economy Class in the following trip report.
When we were looking for a good hotel for our city trip to Chicago, we came across the Hilton Chicago. Find out whether this luxury hotel on Michigan Avenue was a good choice in our hotel review.
In the second part of our road trip through the American Midwest, we continued north into Michigan. Our destination for the day was the Sleeping Bear Dunes near Traverse City, also known as the "Cherry Capital." This leg of our journey was very special to us, as we have very personal memories associated with this region.
For this year's annual holiday, we decided to visit the Midwest of the USA. In line with our travel plans, LOT Polish Airlines published an offer for Premium Economy to Chicago. Find out in the review to what extent LOT Premium Economy in the Boeing 787-9 is an insider tip on long-haul flights.
Unlike many European airlines, Air Canada offers a true business class on short- and medium-haul routes – with wider seats, more comfort, and consistently premium service. In early 2017, we flew from Seattle to Toronto and had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the flight to the fullest on board Air Canada Business Class in the Embraer ERJ-190.
United Airlines lounges haven't exactly been known for their amenities and food and beverage offerings in the past. However, since the introduction of the new "Polaris" Business Class, United Clubs have been renovated and their service improved. The United Club Seattle was one of the first lounges to be redesigned. You can read more about our January 2017 stay in our review.
For years, a trip to Everett has been one of our highlights when traveling in Seattle. Just about 50 kilometers north of the city lies the massive Boeing factory right next to Paine Field Airport – a must-see for all aircraft fans. Giants like the Boeing 747, 767, 777, and 787 are manufactured here. And it was here in January 2017 that we spent an exciting day among the factory halls, runways, and all sorts of aircraft action.
Seattle in January 2017: It was cold, but the city had plenty to offer! To explore the city in a relaxed manner, we opted for the Seattle CityPASS. This not only saves on admission, but also gives you direct access to five of the most famous attractions. Long lines? No chance of waiting. We simply held up our ticket booklet and were able to get started right away. You can find out which attractions particularly impressed us in my travel report.
The SWISS Lounge at Chicago O'Hare Airport was newly renovated in 2011. Access is available to HON Circle members, Miles & More Senators, Star Alliance Gold members, Miles & More Frequent Travelers, and First and Business Class passengers. Find out whether the trip to the lounge is worth it in this review.
