In addition to the airline lounges, such as: B. the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, there are also contract or special lounges at some airports. One of these special features is the American Express Centurion Lounge San Francisco. You can find out how we got access to “The Centurion Lounge” and what our stay was like in the lounge review.

San Francisco International Airport is one of the busiest airports on the West Coast of the United States. It has five separate terminals: two for international departures (Terminals A and G) and three for domestic departures (Terminals 1, 2 and 3). Together with Robert von thetravelhappiness.com I arrived at Terminal G with the BART. After our three-day short trip to San Francisco, we should now go back to Copenhagen with SAS Scandincavian Airlines.

Where is the American Express Centurion Lounge San Francisco located?

The American Express Centurion Lounge San Francisco is located in Terminal 3, which fortunately is connected to Terminal G on the “airside” (i.e. behind security). Thanks to the good signage, we quickly found our way to Terminal 3. The main entrance to the Centurion Lounge, with its two-storey glass front and the American Express logo, was also impossible to miss. Inside, a wall of green plastic plants adorns the path up to reception.

Who has access to the American Express Centurion Lounge San Francisco?

Checked at reception if we could get access to the lounge. Robert had to show his American Express Platinum credit card, photo ID and boarding pass. Without further discussion, I was allowed to visit the lounge free of charge as his guest. In addition to the holders of an American Express Platinum credit card, only Centurion members (highest credit card level with American Express) have access to the lounge.

How is the American Express Centurion Lounge San Francisco equipped?

The lounge consists of three different areas: the buffet with café tables, the bar and a work/relaxation room. This room was furnished with comfortable armchairs, large meeting tables and simple chairs. There was also a small TV corner with lounge sofas.

What to eat and drink at the American Express Centurion Lounge San Francisco?

Our favorite place in the Centurion Lounge was the small bar. We chose various long drinks from an extensive drinks menu. There is also beer and non-alcoholic drinks. And best of all: all drinks are free!

Another highlight of the lounge was the dispensing system for wines. With a ticket, which is available free of charge at the reception or at the bar, you can taste up to six glasses of different wines from Napa Valley. Finally, there is also a fully automatic coffee machine, which was in the small TV room next to the reception.
