Malaysia Airlines Economy Class Boeing 737-800 to Kuala Lumpur

Langkawi Airport is a typical small tourist airport. The routes are short and the queues, at least on this Saturday, weren't long either. For us, it was Malaysia Airlines Economy Class Boeing 737-800 to Kuala Lumpur.

Checking in with Malaysia Airlines was quick and easy. In addition to Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Malindo, and Silk Air also flew that morning. Six or seven planes alone are flying to Kuala Lumpur on Saturday morning.

We had to wait a bit at Departure Gate 3 before boarding at 11:30 a.m. A Malaysian state plane, an old Boeing 737, still had to land. A carpet, not a red one, but a yellow one, was rolled out, and many celebrities in suits disembarked. While the crew grew nervous and formed a guard of honor on the stairs, the Malaysian king stepped off the plane. He went to an adjacent VIP terminal, and a short time later, a motorcade with police and about 15 vehicles arrived.

What is the cabin and seat like in Malaysia Airlines Economy Class Boeing 737-900?

Our plane wasn't even half full. This is probably because there were seven more flights to Kuala Lumpur that morning alone.

We were seated in seats 25E and F. At 11:43 a.m., seven minutes before takeoff, the pilot gave the go-ahead for the pushback. After the safety video on the monitors, which, by the way, could do with a dusting, a prayer for the journey, "In the name of Allah...", was displayed for a few seconds. Takeoff took place at 11:50 a.m., heading west. This gave us another beautiful view of Langkawi and our two hotels, "The Danna" (here you can find our Hotel review) and the Berjaya (here you can find our Hotel review)

What is available to eat and drink on the Malaysia Airlines Economy Class Boeing 737-900?

The in-flight service consisted of a bag of salted peanuts and a choice of apple or orange juice. Thanks to the low cruising altitude and mostly clear skies, we had a good view of the Malaysian mainland.

The captain initiated the descent at 12:15 p.m. During the approach, parallel to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, we had a fantastic view of the Sepang Formula 1 track. We finally touched down at 12:40 p.m. and, after a short taxi, reached Gate A2R.

We took the KLIA Express non-stop to Kuala Lumpur for 35 MYR per person. A cheaper alternative would be an AirAsia bus for 9 MYR. However, that takes over an hour for the 70 kilometers to KL Sentral. The express train, on the other hand, takes only 28 minutes and has Wi-Fi on board. However, it occasionally loses connection.
