After arriving at Thessaloniki Airport, we quickly bought our tickets to Larnaca at the Aegean Airlines Business Class counter. We got through security quickly and were able to access the Aegean Business Lounge.
Aegean Business Lounge Thessaloniki
The lounge was beautifully furnished once again. There were several white leather sofas, seating areas, and a large rectangular table with bar stools in the buffet area. The buffet offered a variety of pastries, baguettes, and fruit. After the disappointment at the hotel, I put together a delicious breakfast of pastries, Greek yogurt, and cappuccino.

A major advantage of the lounge is that boarding by bus is possible directly from the lounge. However, we cannot use this today, as we still have to go through passport control.

Boarding
The woman at the gate was hopelessly overwhelmed, and it took ages for the bus to fill up. Priority boarding for status customers and business class passengers wasn't consistently enforced. When it was finally my turn, the woman eagerly sifted through my passport looking for a visa. I was able to reassure her that, as a German citizen, I didn't need one. There's definitely room for improvement here.

We took the bus the short distance across the tarmac to the Airbus A320-200 (registration SX-DVJ). After boarding through door 1L, we immediately took seats 1A and 1F. Unlike our business class flight from Berlin to Athens yesterday, these seats are newer but also thinner – like the camping chair model from Lufthansa NEK. What's noticeable, and quite bothersome at my height of 1.84 m, is that the seats seem to be higher, as I have to lean forward to see out the window.
To start, I just had a glass of water. The menu was handed out at the same time, offering a choice of three courses. After boarding was complete, the three of us sat in Business Class, out of a possible 12 seats. At 12:11, we taxied from our apron position to the runway. The takeoff was fantastic. Finally, good visibility! After a turn over the sea, we flew over Thessaloniki and the mountains in the hinterland. There was even still snow on the peaks.
Service
After the seatbelt signs were switched off, the chief flight attendant took our order. She even addressed me by name, which made the service much more personal. This time, I tried a Greek red wine as an aperitif, a 2011/2012 Goumenissa, and of course, an ouzo. Cheers!

The Greek appetizer platter was served today along with the hot main course. The choices were chicken with potatoes and vegetables in mustard sauce or fish. I opted for the chicken, which was very tasty. However, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the Greek appetizer platter; it contained too many items, such as anchovies, which I don't usually eat.
For dessert, I ordered another espresso and tried the second red wine on offer (theme 2011). Drinking a fresh espresso above the clouds is simply fantastic. Shortly before landing, we ordered the Chios Mastiha liqueur again. Sweet! Delicious!

The approach over Cyprus was breathtaking. The sun was shining and below us, numerous fields and many white houses appeared.
After landing, we went through passport control quite quickly and then into a taxi. The taxis, at least ours, didn't have meters. So we had no choice but to accept the fixed price of €17. Our hotel for tonight is the Frangiorgio Hotel Apartments.
