The Lufthansa Lounge Milan-Malpensa was extensively renovated some time ago. During a business trip to Milan, I was able to gain an impression of whether the modernised lounge meets the expectations of the Italian fashion capital.
Where is the Lufthansa Lounge Milan-Malpensa?
The new Lufthansa Lounge at Milan Malpensa Airport is located behind the security checkpoint in Terminal 1. The lounge is very well signposted. On the way there, however, I first had to fight my way through the endless duty-free shops. The lounge entrance is next to the stairs leading down to Gates A24-A39.

Who has access to the Lufthansa Lounge Milan-Malpensa?
As with all Lufthansa Business Lounges, Lufthansa and Star Alliance Business and First Class passengers as well as Miles & More members with Frequent Traveller, Senator or HON Circle status have access to this lounge. Of course, passengers with Star Alliance Gold status are also allowed in the lounge. With the exception of Business Class passengers or Miles and More Frequent Traveller status holders, you may take one guest with you into the lounge.
What is the Lufthansa Lounge Milan-Malpensa equipped with?
Since my flight to Munich was scheduled to depart at 8:40 a.m., the lounge was pleasantly empty when I arrived early in the morning. So I took the opportunity to photograph the various seating areas for my lounge review. Immediately after the entrance check, two larger tables with ample power outlets and chairs follow on the left. Only the "through traffic" could be a nuisance in the long run.

The lounge in Milan has an L-shaped floor plan. The rear area offers plenty of additional seating and tables for dining. The individual areas are separated by floor-to-ceiling wooden installations, preventing the feel of a waiting room.

I particularly liked the back area of the lounge. Very comfortable leather armchairs stand in front of a stylized, illuminated bookcase. The room is illuminated by several oversized light bulbs hanging from the ceiling.

What is available to eat and drink in the Lufthansa Lounge Milan-Malpensa?
In general, the food and beverage offerings in Lufthansa lounges have improved significantly over the past year. However, the breakfast buffet in Milan was considerably more extensive and of higher quality than I've experienced in other Lufthansa Senator Lounges. The buffet offered various baked goods, as well as local cheese and sausage specialties. There was also a cereal buffet with various yogurts, fresh fruit, and muesli.

In addition to two fully automatic coffee machines and freshly prepared juices, there are also soft drinks and water. Various wines, beers, and spirits are also available. However, due to the early hour, I didn't bother to look at them. I preferred to have an espresso macchiato prepared at the bar. In addition to coffee specialties, the bar also offers cocktails and long drinks.
