After moving to Terminal 1D, Lufthansa opened a new Senator and Business Lounge. At the end of our relaxed beach holiday in the United Arab Emirates, we visited the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai before our return flight. You can find out whether a visit is worthwhile in the Lounge Review.
Where is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai located?
After passing through the central passport and security control, we had to take the train to Terminal 1D. Upon arrival, the lounge was located above the duty free shops on the top floor. The way there was well signposted. The Lufthansa Senator Lounge shares an entrance with the Lufthansa Business Lounge Dubai. After the admission control, the left was Business and the Senator Lounge was right.
Who has access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai?
Access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge is granted to Lufthansa and Star Alliance First Class passengers who are in possession of a valid boarding pass for a Lufthansa or Star Alliance flight departing from Dubai on the same day. Frequent flyers with Star Alliance Gold status, like us, also have access.
How is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai equipped?
Right at the entrance to the Senator Lounge is a small business center with four workstations. This is followed by the buffet and the seating area. This one turns out to be quite small. There are only 24 armchairs, three loungers, two short and one long counter with bar stools and a few tables for eating. Sockets and USB charging sockets are available on the armchairs and the counter. When we were there, every seat was occupied. The lounge has a view of the terminal building. Overall, the lounge seemed a little uncomfortable, as hardly any elements were used to separate the room.
In the entrance area there is also access to two showers, the toilets and several lockers. I found the selection of magazines and newspapers remarkable.
What is there to eat and drink in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai?
The drinks fridge was well stocked with a large selection. There were different spirits, beer, soft drinks, water, sparkling wine and two white and red wines. A fully automatic coffee machine was also available.
For a Senator Lounge of this size, the food offerings were above average. During our stay there was a very delicious vegetarian curry and also a goulash with potato wedges and a noodle pan. In addition, two soups, a Thai curry and a beef consommé were offered. Small sandwiches, sandwiches and various appetizers were served as snacks.

Review of the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai basically offers the facilities and service that I expect from a Senator Lounge. However, without any visual division, the room looks like a boring waiting room to me. There is definitely room for improvement here. I was really pleasantly surprised by the range of food and drinks.
