Katowice Airport is Poland's third-largest airport in terms of passengers. Lufthansa currently offers a total of 21 flights per week. This means the number of passengers is too small for a dedicated airport lounge, so passengers use the contract lounge in Terminal B. Find out in our review that a visit to the Business Lounge at Katowice Airport is still worthwhile.
Where is the business lounge located at Katowice Airport?
Arriving at Katowice Airport, I took the elevator to the second floor. Here, Katowice Airport offers a security checkpoint specifically for frequent flyers. This so-called Fast Track has been set up by the airport in a very personal and almost luxurious manner. Similar to... Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, There is a counter for passport and ticket control and a discreet security check with no waiting time. The entrance to the Business Lounge at Katowice Airport is located directly after the Fast Track.
Who has access to the business lounge at Katowice Airport?
Access to the Business Lounge and Fast Track is free for Star Alliance Gold members and Business Class passengers. All other passengers can purchase access for 60 PLN (net).
What are the facilities like in the business lounge at Katowice Airport?
The lounge's decor surprised me with its pleasantly open design, dark wood veneer, and seating in shades of yellow. I took a seat in one of the comfortable lounge chairs overlooking the activity on the airport apron. There's also a standing table with bar stools, four dining tables with two chairs each, and six more comfortable armchairs in the back of the lounge.

What food and drinks are available in the Business Lounge at Katowice Airport?
For a contract lounge at a relatively small airport, the selection of food and drinks was surprisingly good. A large refrigerator contained chilled beverages as well as various types of beer, rosé wine, sparkling wine, soft drinks, and even energy drinks.
In addition to the drinks, the refrigerated section also offered pre-packaged wraps, mini burgers with breaded chicken, canapés, and yogurt. A long standing table, which also served as a buffet, provided additional hot dishes. The selection was rounded out with various sweets and potato chips. After a long day at a demanding meeting, I was extremely satisfied with a double espresso from the automatic coffee machine and a Polish "after-work beer.".

It looks really good! And 60 PLN to "shopping" in the lounge is more than fair. In Poland, status customers are still worth something :-)
I also think 60PLN is a very fair offer, since you only get access as a *Gold or Business Class passenger.
The price is now 170 PLN for lounge access.
Thanks for the update! 170 PLN is quite a price increase.
