The new Aegean Business Lounge in Terminal A, the non-Schengen area of Athens Airport, recently opened in April 2022. On my way to Sofia, I took advantage of the transfer time to check out Aegean Airlines' new flagship lounge at Athens Airport.
Where is the Aegean Business Lounge Athens located?
The new Aegean Business Lounge is located in the non-Schengen area of Athens Airport (Terminal A). After passing through security and passport control and strolling through the various duty-free shops, I reached the lounge. A small sign indicates that the lounge is on the third floor of the new building. You have the choice between an elevator and the option of taking the stairs or escalator twice. I chose the stairs because I had enjoyed a sumptuous business-class meal on the outbound flight from Düsseldorf to Athens. Once at the top, I found myself in a spacious entrance area. The area was flooded with light thanks to a glass roof and, with its olive tree and blue glass and aluminum wall cladding, looked very attractive. I quickly passed through the automatic entrance control and entered the lounge.

Who has access to the Aegean Business Lounge Athens?
Access to the new Aegean Business Lounge is available to guests with a Business Class ticket or Miles+Bonus Gold status, as well as Gold members of the Star Alliance network. Gold members may also bring one guest with them to the lounge.
How is the Aegean Business Lounge Athens equipped?
The lounge itself is just as spacious as the entrance area. The 1250 m² lounge offers ample seating. Numerous tables are set up at the buffets. Other areas feature comfortable sofas, armchairs, and loungers with views of the apron. There are also two separate meeting rooms.

Rounded and flowing shapes and a combination of high-quality materials such as marble, terrazzo, glass, and wood make the new Aegean Business Lounge in Terminal A a state-of-the-art space. The color blue, which reflects Aegean Airlines' corporate identity, predominates. Overall, the lounge makes a very luxurious impression and is definitely an upgrade compared to the previous lounge.
Where can I eat and drink in the Aegean Business Lounge Athens?
There's a large buffet with a variety of hot and cold dishes. During my stay, only Greek dishes were served. Everything looked fresh, and the dishes I tried were delicious. There was also a buffet island with various desserts and delicious smoothies.

There are three buffets for drinks in the lounge. Due to COVID-19 regulations, these were staffed, and guests were served coffee or soft or alcoholic beverages. The drinks buffet in the dining area also featured a wine tasting station. Here, I was able to sample various Greek white and red wines and learn interesting facts about their origins from the displays. All in all, the Aegean Lounge Athens in Terminal A has a very good selection.
