This time, during the Whitsun holidays, we went to the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. On the return journey, we were lucky enough to fly with Aegean Airlines Business Class in the Airbus A321neo to fly from Athens to Berlin.
We had booked the flight in economy class. However, as a Miles+Bonus Gold frequent flyer, I receive four vouchers for an upgrade to business class each year. We had already tried to redeem the vouchers for the outbound flight from Berlin to Athens. But the flight was fully booked, and we weren't taken off the waitlist. The situation for the flight from Athens to Berlin remained similar for a long time, and we only received the new boarding passes for business class shortly before boarding.

Boarding for the Airbus A321neo began almost an hour late due to the delayed arrival of the plane from Vienna. Accordingly, the gate area at Athens Airport was quite hectic when boarding finally began. Nevertheless, an effort was made to adhere to the boarding groups, and we were the first to board the Aegean Airlines Airbus A321neo.
What is the cabin and seat like in Aegean Airlines Business Class on the Airbus A321neo?
The Aegean Business Class cabin on the Airbus A321neo is, as is common on European flights, flexible in the number of rows. On our flight, there were four rows in a 3-3 seating arrangement. The middle seat remains empty and is usually replaced by a small table. Unfortunately, this was forgotten in my row this time.

Aegean Airlines calls the new design line introduced with the Airbus Neo models "AEGEAN's neo era." The seat design now includes dark blue leather with light blue contrast stitching and the embroidered Aegean Airlines logo in white. In Business Class, the headrests are adjustable and can be folded for head support. Seat pitch is adequate, and the backrest can be reclined far back. The seat also features a Type-A USB port and, in addition to the familiar small table, a mobile phone holder. This is so versatile that it should also accommodate tablets.

What is available to eat and drink in Aegean Airlines Business Class?
Menus were distributed in Business Class before takeoff. A welcome drink of champagne, orange juice, or water was also offered. A hot towel is now also available again. These service elements have been scaled back during the pandemic.

Aegean Airlines serves a three-course meal in Business Class on the Athens-Berlin route. On our flight, the starter was tabbouleh salad. For the main course, you could choose between chicken leg in tomato sauce with orzo pasta and graviera cheese, or sea bass fillet in bianco sauce and carrot puree with steamed asparagus. For dessert, there was a selection of cheeses and the Greek sweet bread ekemek tsoureki.

I chose chicken. The meal is served on china with proper cutlery and a cloth napkin. The food was delicious, and the dessert was especially delicious. To finish off, I ordered a cappuccino.

The beverage selection in Aegean Business Class is also very extensive. There were two different Greek white and red wines alone. There was also a large selection of spirits and liqueurs, as well as beer and soft drinks. Five different types of coffee and three types of tea rounded out the offerings.
What is the in-flight entertainment like in Aegean Airlines Business Class?
Aegean Airlines does not offer in-flight entertainment in Business Class, as you might expect from long-haul flights. However, the Airbus A321neo does have Wi-Fi, allowing you to surf the internet or access on-demand content such as series, newspapers or magazines, games, or the flight route. Aegean Airlines offers 10 minutes of free internet access. If you want more, passengers can purchase the "Text & Surf" package with 1.5 Mbps for EUR 4 and the "Stream" package with up to 15 Mbps for EUR 9. The "Text & Surf" package is free for Miles+Bonus Gold members, and the Stream package is free for Business Class passengers.
