Aegean Airlines Business Class on the Airbus A320 to Thessaloniki
To kick off my short segment run for Aegean Miles & Bonus Gold this year, I flew Aegean Airlines Business Class on an Airbus A320-200 from Hanover to Thessaloniki. I had booked a cheap Economy Class ticket and then upgraded to Business Class using a voucher. You can find out whether the upgrade was worth it in the trip report.
Lufthansa Business Class Airbus A319 to Leipzig
Lufthansa's Business Class on the Airbus A319 can hardly be described as luxurious. In most cases, Lufthansa Business Class isn't worth it for short-haul flights within Europe due to the price-performance ratio. As a connecting flight on our Miles & More award ticket from Dubai, we flew the short route from Frankfurt to Leipzig.
Lufthansa Premium Economy in the Airbus A330-300 to Dubai
We spent a long time looking for a destination for our annual holiday. Bali and Washington D.C. were on the list. Due to the better availability of Miles & More award flights, we finally decided in favour of the United Arab Emirates. You can find out what our flight in Lufthansa Premium Economy in the Airbus A330 to Dubai was like in our flight review.
SAS Go in the Airbus A340-300 to San Francisco
Last August, Robert from robisintheair.de asked me if I'd like to fly with him to San Francisco on SAS Go in an Airbus A340-300. At a price of just under €200, I didn't have to think twice before accepting. You can find out what service is offered on the 11-hour flight in SAS Economy Class in the following trip report.
Aegean Airlines Mileage Run 2018: Four segments towards Star Alliance Gold
Some might shake their heads at the idea of spending an afternoon on a Greek holiday taking four flights. For many, flying to the island of Chios for just 25 minutes makes no sense. For me, however, this mileage run with Aegean Airlines was precisely the missing piece of the puzzle to extend my Star Alliance Gold status for another year through the Miles+Bonus program.

Hilton Molino Stucky
Luxury hotels in Venice are plentiful, some located right in the winding alleys, others a bit further out. This is one of them, the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, which we chose as our base for our New Year's trip to Venice in 2021/22. Find out how our stay was and what benefits you can expect as a Hilton Diamond status guest in the following hotel review.
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Venice - North
The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Venice – North is located only about 30 minutes from the lagoon city of Venice, making it an ideal and affordable base for sightseeing. Find out what you can expect as a hotel guest or Hilton status member in the following hotel review.
Hilton Munich Park
The four-star Hilton Munich Park is just a few minutes' walk from the English Garden. We visited the hotel between Christmas and New Year's Eve during the coronavirus pandemic. Find out how the coronavirus restrictions affected our stay in the following hotel review.

Lounge reviews
Al Maha Lounge Doha
Whether it's long wait times or an early arrival at the airport, there are many reasons to pass the time at the airport. While Hamad International Airport in Doha already offers many options, the most comfortable option is certainly one of the airport lounges. On our way to the island paradise of the Maldives, we visited the Al Maha Lounge Doha. Find out in our lounge review whether a visit, or even the admission price, is worth it.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark is one of two Lufthansa lounges. Before my return flight to Copenhagen with SAS, I used the time at the airport to visit the lounge.
SAS Lounge Newark
The Scandinavian airline SAS operates its own lounge at various airports in the USA. On our way back from a short trip to New York City, we visited the SAS Lounge Newark before the late afternoon rush. In this lounge review, I will share my experiences and impressions of the amenities and food and beverage offerings, and whether a visit is worthwhile.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg is one of two Lufthansa lounges at the airport in the Hanseatic city. Due to a trip to New York (via Copenhagen with SAS), I flew from Hamburg for the first time and accordingly paid a visit to the lounge. In this lounge review, I will share my experiences and impressions of the facilities, the food and drink on offer and reveal the absolute highlight of the lounge.

United Arab Emirates with a toddler
Phew, the weather is always miserable in November. Why not fly to the sun when it's getting wet and cold in Germany? It's always sunny and warm in the United Arab Emirates, so this was our first long-haul trip with our young son. But is a Muslim country the right choice, and how will the child cope with the heat? A different culture, different food, different people... find out how relaxing and child-friendly the United Arab Emirates are in the following article.
Planespotting at the Boeing factory in Everett
For years, a trip to Everett has been one of our highlights when traveling in Seattle. Just about 50 kilometers north of the city lies the massive Boeing factory right next to Paine Field Airport – a must-see for all aircraft fans. Giants like the Boeing 747, 767, 777, and 787 are manufactured here. And it was here in January 2017 that we spent an exciting day among the factory halls, runways, and all sorts of aircraft action.
Short holiday in Vienna with a toddler
Taking a holiday with a small child is exciting, and the first time flying is an adventure. Before, it was a quick trip through security or a whirlwind from the arrival gate to the baggage claim. With a child, you need peace and quiet – throughout the entire holiday. In this post, you'll read about our experiences flying, staying at the hotel, and sightseeing in Vienna with a toddler.
Seattle Travel Report – Experience the Highlights with the CityPASS
Seattle in January 2017: It was cold, but the city had plenty to offer! To explore the city in a relaxed manner, we opted for the Seattle CityPASS. This not only saves on admission, but also gives you direct access to five of the most famous attractions. Long lines? No chance of waiting. We simply held up our ticket booklet and were able to get started right away. You can find out which attractions particularly impressed us in my travel report.
