NYC: Coney Island and Central Park

Coney Island

Coney Island

We had originally planned to take a boat tour of Manhattan today. However, when we arrived at the Circle Line pier, the morning boat had already departed. So we decided to go to Coney Island instead. The peninsula is the southernmost tip of Brooklyn and lies directly on the Atlantic coast. There's a small amusement park on the beach, including a roller coaster. We couldn't go in because it doesn't reopen until the end of April. Everything looks a bit dated, though, so I probably wouldn't have gone on any of the rides anyway.

Central Park

After soaking up some sun on the beach and having lunch, we set off again on the approximately 30-minute subway ride to Manhattan. Our plan was to visit a few more attractions included in the New York Pass, such as the Central Park Zoo. Unfortunately, the zoo was removed from the pass after we had purchased it. So we decided to walk through the vast Central Park instead.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

Late in the afternoon, we visited the Egypt exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Very informative!

Afterwards, we went to Times Square to finally take some photos at night. But there's a separate post about that. Post.
