The route from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore was the busiest international flight route in the world in 2018 with 30,187 flights per year, according to an analysis by travel information service OAG Aviation Worldwide. The coronavirus pandemic has certainly reduced this figure significantly. Nevertheless, there are still numerous daily connections between the two Southeast Asian metropolises. We opted for a morning flight with Singapore Airlines. I was very excited to see what the Singapore Airlines Business Class Boeing 737-800 NG had to offer in regional traffic.
After more than a week, our stay in Malaysia was unfortunately already over. Before flying with Singapore Airlines via Singapore to Bangkok, we were able to relax in the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur before our departure. The introduction of the new Turkish Airlines Business Class Boeing 787-9 was heavily advertised by the airline and caused a lot of hype even before its launch. After checking out of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur, we travelled by LRT and KLIA Express to the international airport. The journey took an hour in total, with a short wait at KL Sentral. We flew to Singapore with an airline that was new to me - Jetstar Asia Economy Class.
Langkawi Airport is a typical small tourist airport. The routes are short, and the lines, at least on this Saturday, weren't long either. We flew to Kuala Lumpur on a Malaysia Airlines Economy Class Boeing 737-800.
We flew from Hanoi to Kuala Lumpur. We chose an AirAsia Economy Class Airbus A320. We took a taxi from the smog of Hanoi to Noi Bai International Airport at 6:30 a.m. After about a 40-minute drive, we arrived in the departure hall of Terminal 1. Noi Bai International Airport is a bit dated and looks like it did during the GDR era.
