Hampton by Hilton Swinemünde

The Hampton by Hilton Świnoujście hotel is located in the center of Świnoujście (Świnoujście), close to the promenade and the beach on the Baltic Sea. When we were looking for a hotel for our vacation on Usedom, the decision was easy as a Hilton HHonors status customer. In the following article we would like to show you our rating of the Hampton by Hilton Swinoujscie.

Hampton by Hilton Swinemünde – Check-in

Since 2014, almost all hotels in the Hilton Group have been able to use the app to check in 24 hours before arrival. This has the advantage that you can choose your own room using the displayed floor plan of the hotel. The surroundings of the hotel are also displayed in order to possibly decide on the side facing away from the road. Unfortunately only street side rooms were available for our stay. However, I found another room (number 401) on the fourth and therefore top floor, which was shown very large in the floor plan. If you looked at the floors below the fourth, two small rooms were drawn on the same area.

If you check in early via the app, you should keep in mind that you are denying yourself the chance of a possible upgrade. This is usually only done by the employee at the counter. At the Hampton by Hilton Swinoujscie (bookable at Hotels.com*) there is only one room category.

The greeting at the hotel was in English and was quick and friendly. We got room 401, which I had preselected. As “My Way Hotel Benefits” we were able to choose a drink and a snack from the hotel shop. We then took the elevator to the 4th floor. Our room was across the street from the elevators, but you didn't hear them because there was still an air space between them.

When we opened the door to our room, we were blown away by the size. The furniture with dark wood veneer looks very modern. Behind the door there is a 3-door wardrobe with five shelves and a part with a clothes rail. To the left of the entrance is the bathroom, which is separated from the rest of the room by a sliding door with a frosted glass element. In the large shower are dispensers with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The sink is set in granite. But there could be a little more storage space.

In the room itself there is a large mirror on the right-hand side, a sideboard with a TV and a desk with a table lamp and two sockets. The bed and a sofa bed are arranged in the left part of the room. The queen size bed is pleasantly hard, but not that wide. Sleeping for two was possible. The baby bed, which had been pre-ordered by e-mail and had a great pirate design, had already been set up in the room. But we didn't need the nice children's bedding for our 4 1/2 month old boy yet. The room faces the street, but despite the cobblestones, you can hardly hear the traffic. This could also be due to the constant noise of the air conditioning.

Das WLAN ist für jeden Gast kostenlos. Man muss sich lediglich öfters mit seiner Zimmernummer und Nachnamen anmelden. Ein schnelleres Internet für Statusgäste wird nicht angeboten, dies ist aber bei der hohen vorhandenen Geschwindigkeit (Download 34,46 Mb/s & 45,26 Mb/s) auch nicht nötig.

There are enough sockets distributed in the hotel room. It should be noted that sockets of type E are used in Poland. The flat Euro plugs (so-called Type C) fit without any problems. However, the thicker Schuko plugs can only be used if there is an extra hole for the middle contact pin.

The hotel has a fitness center, a meeting room and a computer corner with three PCs and a printer. At the reception there is a small shop for chilled drinks and snacks. The prices are moderate.

Hampton by Hilton Swinoujscie - Breakfast

Breakfast is offered in the restaurant in the lobby. The room is beautifully designed. Warm colors and lots of wood dominate. On each table is a vase with a fresh flower. There is enough seating available. Exclusively for HHonors members there are already set tables u. a. also with a basket with jam, honey and Nutella. There is room for improvement in service. Unfortunately, the used dishes were not cleared away during breakfast.

On the right-hand side you will find warm dishes such as pancakes, scrambled eggs with bacon and sausages. On the left there is a clearly arranged salad bar with cheese, various mueslis and yoghurt and a waffle station with various toppings. Toast, croissants, cheese and sausage are offered on the two middle buffet islands. At a self-service bar you have to stock up on orange juice, apple juice, water and coffee yourself. Unfortunately, there are no coffee machines, only two large warm containers for filter coffee. This one is a little watery.

The hotel is in a new development area. In the immediate vicinity is the train station Swinemünde Centrum (departure of the Usedomer Bäderbahn), several restaurants and foothills of the "Poland Market". A supermarket is also within easy walking distance. You can walk to the beach and the promenade in 20 minutes.

Hotel guests have the opportunity to park their cars in the underground car park. The hotel charges 40 PLN (approx. 10 EUR) per day for this. During our stay there was enough free parking right in front of the door.
