Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai

Entrance to the Lufthansa Lounges at Dubai Airport

After moving to Terminal 1D, Lufthansa has opened a new Senator and Business Lounge. To conclude our relaxed beach holiday in the United Arab Emirates, we visited the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai before our return flight. You can find out whether a visit is worthwhile in the Lounge Review.

Where is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai?

After passing through the central passport and security checkpoint, we took the train to Terminal 1D. Upon arrival, the lounge was located above the duty-free shops on the upper floor. The route there was clearly signposted. The Lufthansa Senator Lounge shares an entrance with the Lufthansa Business Lounge Dubai. After the entry check, we went left into the Business Lounge and right into the Senator Lounge.

Who has access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai?

Access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge is granted to Lufthansa and Star Alliance First Class passengers who hold a valid boarding pass for a Lufthansa or Star Alliance flight departing from Dubai on the same day. Frequent flyers with Star Alliance Gold status, like us, also have access.

What is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai equipped with?

Immediately to the right of the entrance to the Senator Lounge is a small business center with four workstations. Next to it is the buffet and the seating area. This is quite small. There are only 24 armchairs, three loungers, two short and one long counters with bar stools, and a few tables for eating. Power outlets and USB charging ports are available at the armchairs and counter. During our visit, every seat was occupied. The lounge has a view of the terminal building. Overall, the lounge felt a bit uncomfortable, as there were hardly any elements to divide the space.

The entrance area also provides access to two showers, restrooms, and several lockers. I was impressed by the selection of magazines and newspapers.

What is available to eat and drink in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai?

The drinks fridge was well-stocked with a wide selection of spirits, beer, soft drinks, water, sparkling wine, and two white and two red wines. A fully automatic coffee machine was also available.

For a Senator Lounge of this size, the food selection was above average. During our stay, we enjoyed a delicious vegetarian curry, a goulash with potato wedges, and a noodle dish. Two soups, a Thai curry, and a beef consommé were also offered. Snacks included small sandwiches, open-faced rolls, and various appetizers.

The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Dubai basically offers the amenities and service I expect from a Senator Lounge. However, without any visual division, the space feels like a boring waiting room to me. There's definitely room for improvement here. I was very pleasantly surprised by the selection of food and drinks.

I'm Christian, born in the green heart of Germany, and I studied computer engineering in Ilmenau. Today, I live in Merseburg with my wife Christin and our son, but I work in Leipzig as a product manager. For me, travel has always been more than just a change of scenery. I loved boarding a plane, discovering new cuisines, and feeling at home in special hotels. This mix of enjoyment, curiosity, and wanderlust is why I started writing about my experiences on this blog back in 2007. Whether a spontaneous weekend adventure or a grand journey across continents, I wanted to share my passion and show how many wonderful stories the world holds. And to this day, I'm always on the lookout for the next place that will surprise me.
