Four-star hotels offer the ideal balance between comfort and value for money – and are the first choice for many travelers and Hilton Honors members for city breaks and short getaways. This page compiles all four-star hotel reviews from miles-around: personal accounts that reveal what this category truly offers worldwide – from room quality and location to breakfast and executive lounges, as well as status benefits for Hilton Honors members.

The focus is clearly on the Hilton family: the following were tested: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels in Krakow, Turin, Venice and Penang, the Hilton Munich Park, Hilton Vienna Park, Hilton Nuremberg, Hilton Mainz, Hilton Garden Inn Davos and the Hilton Dresden and Hilton Tallinn Park. The archive is complemented by reviews of the TUI BLUE Lagoon Princess in Thessaloniki and the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport. The reports are aimed at couples, families, and frequent flyers who travel in comfort and want to use their Hilton Honors points effectively.

Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade

We won tickets to the Frequent Traveler University (FTU), which took place in Berlin from June 10th to 12th, 2016. The FTU offered interesting insights into various customer loyalty programs from hotels and airlines through a series of presentations. The venue was the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade, so it made sense to book a room there for two nights.

Berjaya Langkawi Resort

Our second hotel on the island of Langkawi was the Berjaya Langkawi Resort. Upon our arrival at 2 p.m., our room, or rather the Rainforest Chalet we had booked, was not yet ready. The reception process was very unprofessional for a 4-star hotel and took forever. Perhaps we were simply unlucky with the staff.

Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy

For our stay in Singapore, we had reserved a room at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy for three nights. After arriving at the airport, we went to the Ground Transportation desk on the arrivals level. There, we received information about the departure time and location of the free hotel shuttle. Unfortunately, we missed the bus by 10 minutes and had to wait another 50 minutes.
