Lufthansa Business Lounge Leipzig/Halle

Lufthansa Group airlines currently fly 75 times a week from Leipzig/Halle Airport to destinations in Germany and Europe. So it goes without saying that there is also a Lufthansa Business Lounge Leipzig/Halle. I visited it on my way to Frankfurt and would like to present it briefly in a lounge review.

Where is the Lufthansa Business Lounge Leipzig/Halle located?

The Lufthansa lounges at Leipzig/Halle Airport are located opposite the entrance to the gates. As the dimensions in Leipzig are not that large, the entrance door is difficult to miss. After my boarding pass was checked at reception, as a Star Alliance Gold status holder I had the choice between the Lufthansa Senator Lounge and the Lufthansa Business Lounge. As I had already written a review of the Senator Lounge, I opted for the latter.

Who has access to the Lufthansa Business Lounge Leipzig/Halle?

As with all Lufthansa Business Lounges, Lufthansa and Star Alliance Business and First Class passengers as well as Miles & More members with Frequent Traveller, Senator or HON Circle status have access to this lounge. Of course, passengers with Star Alliance Gold status are also allowed in the lounge. With the exception of Business Class passengers or Miles and More Frequent Traveller status holders, you may take one guest with you into the lounge.

How is the Lufthansa Business Lounge Leipzig/Halle equipped?

Several seating groups, mostly with two comfortable leather armchairs, are distributed around the room together with a small table. There are also two separate desks and two recliners. There are also plenty of tables and chairs for eating. The colours and decorative elements are identical to the other Lufthansa lounges. I particularly liked the mountain panorama mural, which I looked at while relaxing on the lounger.

What can I eat and drink in the Lufthansa Business Lounge Leipzig/Halle?

In short, the range of food and drinks on offer in the Lufthansa Business Lounge Leipzig was limited. During my stay, all that was on offer at lunchtime was a pasta salad with feta, cold wieners, cucumber salad, fruit and small bags of peanuts.

The drinks selection felt a bit more extensive. In addition to juices, water and soft drinks, there were also two wines, sparkling wine and beer. Of course, the range also included various spirits. However, due to the time of day, I didn't pay much attention to these and preferred a fresh espresso from the fully automatic coffee machine.

Update (25/08/2021): Lufthansa Business Lounge Leipzig closed

Unfortunately, Lufthansa has decided to no longer operate the lounge in Leipzig. There is currently no alternative for status customers at Leipzig/Halle Airport.

Summary

The renovation of the Lufthansa Business Lounge at Leipzig Airport was a significant upgrade. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of the variety of food and drinks. A warm dish, at least a soup, would be a good start for lunchtime.
