It's no secret that Scandinavia often offers unbeatable flight deals. Thanks to an amazing pricing error, we were lucky enough to snag business class tickets for our flight to Seattle. Since a timely arrival in Oslo was essential, we decided to spend a night at the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport (Gardermoen). In this hotel review, we share our experience with this first-class airport hotel.
Arrival and check-in
After arriving at Oslo Airport (Gardermoen), we used the far left exit of the main building. From there, a covered walkway led directly to the hotel. The walk with luggage took about five minutes. We had to wait briefly in the beautifully designed lobby for a member of staff. As you would expect from an airport hotel, the reception is open 24 hours. Check-in was quick but friendly, and we received our room keys. We then took the elevator to the fourth floor and made our way through the winding architecture of the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport to our room, 4272.

What are the rooms like at the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport?
We found the size of the room very pleasant. Admittedly, it wasn't huge. Fortunately, there was no bulky wardrobe, so there was enough room on the floor for one large and two small suitcases. There was also a coat rack behind the door for our winter coats. We also had access to a safe and a coffee station.

Immediately to the left in the hallway was the entrance to the bathroom with a walk-in shower. This was separated from the rest of the room by a movable glass partition. While showering, the rest of the bathroom floor still got wet, no matter how hard we tried. Otherwise, we liked the generous storage space by the sink.

In the bedroom and living area, the LED installation behind the bed immediately caught our eye. The RGBW LED strips could be individually adjusted using a button on the right-hand bedside table. There was also a power outlet on each side of the bed, and two additional USB ports on the right side for charging smartphones. However, the mattress on our bed was much too soft for us.

By the window was a comfortable armchair with a floor lamp and a small table. The television hung on the wall opposite the bed. To the left of it was a desk with a desk lamp and swivel chair. There were also two electrical outlets here. However, the television program was rather disappointing for an airport hotel. The selection of programs was limited. The only non-Norwegian channel was the BBC. Luckily, we were able to connect our iPad to the TV via AirPlay and watch YouTube over the free Wi-Fi.

What is breakfast like at the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport?
Breakfast at the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport is served from 5:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (Monday to Friday) and 10:30 a.m. (Saturday and Sunday). The large dining room is furnished with black tables and chairs with red cushions. Since we arrived for breakfast shortly before 6:00 a.m., it was pleasantly quiet. The buffet selection was very extensive. There were various juices and smoothies, a coffee machine, waffles, ham and egg rolls, cold platters, fish, fruit salad, and even a noodle soup station. The average German hotel guest, who expects a selection of different bread rolls, will be somewhat disappointed here. Only croissants and one type of roll, unfortunately with poppy seeds, were offered. The typical crispbread was, of course, not missing.

Summary
The Park Inn by Radisson Oslo Airport is a first-class airport hotel. The lobby is just a short walk from the terminal. Our room was pleasantly large, clean, and modernly furnished. It was a bit of a shame that there were hardly any international TV channels. The service could be improved. Our bed was poorly made, and we received very little service at breakfast.
