Tower Club at lebua Bangkok

Finally, the time had come! It was time to check into our suite at the Tower Club at lebua Hotel. Read our review to find out how we liked this luxury hotel in the heart of Bangkok.

Arrival and check-in

The time had finally come – our stay at the Tower Club at lebua Bangkok was about to begin! Shortly after our arrival, we were immediately struck by the luxurious service of this five-star hotel. The concierge looked a bit incredulous as we walked up the driveway with our backpacks – most guests probably arrive by taxi or the hotel's own limousine. Nevertheless, he greeted us with a friendly smile and immediately took our luggage.

After registering at the reception desk and submitting the mandatory credit card deposit, we were invited to take a seat in the stylish lobby. Sitting in comfortable armchairs, we enjoyed our first glimpse of the elegant ambiance while a member of staff took care of the formalities. Just a few minutes later, we were greeted again by name and invited by the receptionist to inspect our suite in person.

Another highlight was the exclusive access to the upper floors: only hotel guests can activate the elevators with their room card. So we rode in style to the 58th floor, excited to see what awaited us in our suite.

Where is the Tower Club at lebua?

The Tower Club at lebua Bangkok enjoys a prime location in the heart of the Thai metropolis. Located in the State Tower, one of Bangkok's most striking skyscrapers, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the Chao Phraya River and the city skyline. Its central location in the Bang Rak district provides easy access to many attractions, exclusive restaurants, and shopping opportunities. The Saphan Taksin BTS station is just a few minutes' walk away, making public transportation a convenient way to explore the city. The proximity to the river is also particularly convenient: the Chao Phraya Express boats provide quick and convenient access to some of Bangkok's most famous temples and sights.

What are the rooms (Tower Club Suite) like at the Tower Club at lebua?

Our Tower Club Suite in the Tower Club at lebua, measuring 66 square meters, not only offered plenty of space but also a stunning view of the Chao Phraya River. The private balcony was a particular highlight, as it allowed us to observe the Bangkok skyline and the hustle and bustle on the river. Upon entering the suite, we immediately felt at home. Directly in the entrance area was a tastefully furnished living area with two comfortable seating areas, each with a table. Here, we could relax, enjoy room service, or simply gaze out over the city.

Adjacent to the living area was a small kitchenette equipped with a Nespresso machine, a hotplate, and a refrigerator. A special convenience was the minibar, restocked daily with complimentary soft drinks such as Coke, Sprite, ice tea, and green tea. Especially after a long day exploring the city, it was nice to be able to help yourself without having to worry about extra costs.

A double-sided sliding door led to the spacious bathroom with a shower and bathtub. High-quality toiletries and fluffy towels completed the bathing experience. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the sleeping area, with two extremely comfortable beds, by far the best of our entire trip. After an eventful day in Bangkok, it was pure luxury to fall into these soft beds and sleep soundly. The amenities also included an LCD TV with video on demand in case we wanted some evening entertainment. The combination of thoughtful design, exclusive amenities, and breathtaking views over the city made the Tower Club Suite a truly special experience.

Tower Club at lebua – Tower Club Suite

From our 66-square-meter Tower Club Suite, we had a magnificent view of the Chao Phraya River from our private balcony. Right in the entrance area was a kind of living room with two seating areas, each with a table.

Next came a kitchenette with a Nespresso machine, hotplate, and a refrigerator. This was stocked with complimentary soft drinks (Coke, Sprite, ice tea, and green tea), which we could have refilled at any time by housekeeping. Behind a double-sided sliding door was a large bathroom with a shower and a bathtub.

The sleeping area had two very comfortable beds, probably the best of our entire trip, and an LCD TV (including video on demand).

Tower Club at lebua – Club Lounge

By booking a suite at the Tower Club, we also purchased access to the exclusive Tower Club Lounge on the 52nd floor. Here, we were able to enjoy a full range of services from noon to 6 p.m. We had a choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, canapés, and other snacks. Every afternoon, after a strenuous sightseeing tour of Bangkok, we headed to the lounge and rounded off the evening with a glass of 2009 Chardonnay or 12-year-old Chivas Regal.

Tower Club at lebua – Breakfast

Breakfast was served in the Muzo restaurant from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. After arriving by elevator, we were escorted to a free table each morning, where we were immediately served coffee, tea, or juice. Here, too, the number of waiters and cooks is enormous by European standards. For example, the slices of toast can be browned in a wood-fired oven upon request. Since I personally couldn't stand the sight of croissants with jam after more than 40 consecutive nights in a hotel, I was delighted by the variety of the buffet. I started the day with all sorts of sushi, eggs Benedict, or shrimp with Chinese noodles. Mmmmm, delicious!

Another highlight of lebua are the two open-air bars, Breeze and Skybar. Breeze is located on the 52nd floor and served as the backdrop for the film "Hangover 2," among other things. The Skybar is one of the highest bars in the world. From the 63rd floor, you have a breathtaking view of the Bangkok skyline.

This exclusivity is likely also responsible for the high prices (cocktails starting at €12). As hotel guests, we had vouchers for two free drinks, unfortunately only for the Breeze Bar, so we treated ourselves to one on our last evening. Bodo ordered a mojito, and I tried a Hangovertini. This was specially created for the cast and crew of "Hangover 2" and contains, among other ingredients, green tea liqueur, martini rosso, green apple juice, and a sprig of rosemary.

The luxury of a 5-star hotel and the endless friendliness of the Thai people have made lebua a very good product. It's the many little touches, such as the additional room service in the evening, which includes a card with the weather forecast placed on the bed, that make our stay unforgettable.

Christian

I'm Christian, born in the green heart of Germany, and I studied computer engineering in Ilmenau. Today, I live in Merseburg with my wife Christin and our son, but I work in Leipzig as a product manager. For me, travel has always been more than just a change of scenery. I loved boarding a plane, discovering new cuisines, and feeling at home in special hotels. This mix of enjoyment, curiosity, and wanderlust is why I started writing about my experiences on this blog back in 2007. Whether a spontaneous weekend adventure or a grand journey across continents, I wanted to share my passion and show how many wonderful stories the world holds. And to this day, I'm always on the lookout for the next place that will surprise me.
