Singapore is one of Asia's most fascinating travel destinations – a city that combines futuristic architecture, lush tropical greenery, and a unique multicultural diversity in a compact area. This page brings together all of miles-around's articles about Singapore: detailed hotel reviews of the Conrad Singapore Marina Bay, the Conrad Singapore Orchard Road, the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, and the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore – complemented by lounge reviews of the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge Terminal 3 and the marhaba Lounge Terminal 1 at Changi Airport.
In addition, there are trip reports with Singapore Airlines in Business Class on the Airbus A350-900, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the Singapore Airlines Training Center. The latest articles also cover family holidays in Singapore with children. The site is aimed at couples, families, and frequent flyers who want to discover Singapore in comfort and plan their trip thoroughly.
Turkish Airlines is one of the few airlines in the world to have its own on-board chef in Business Class. It’s a claim that piques curiosity and raises high expectations. On the return flight from Singapore to Istanbul, we had the opportunity to experience Business Class on the Airbus A350 up close for eleven hours. We wanted to take a close look at the seats, the food service, the drinks selection and the entertainment on this long daytime flight. Find out what Turkish Airlines really offers in Business Class, where the airline excels and where there is still room for improvement in our detailed review.
Singapore has fascinated us for many years. We’ve visited this modern metropolis several times before and have always loved the blend of its futuristic skyline, tropical greenery and diverse cultures. This trip, however, was still something special: it was the first time we’d explored Singapore with our son.
The marhaba Lounge in Singapore Terminal 1 is one of the lounges at Singapore Changi Airport that is open to many travellers – whether they hold a business class ticket, are members of a lounge programme, or pay for access. We visited it before our flight to find out whether it offers a relaxing alternative to the terminal or falls short of expectations.
The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is one of the best airport hotels in the world and has won several awards at the Skytrax World Airport Awards. It is located directly at Singapore Changi Airport. We tested the hotel for one night before our return journey and report on the booking, location and rooms in this review. We also answer the question of whether an overnight stay at the multi-award-winning airport hotel is really worth it.
Singapore is one of Asia's most exciting cities. It is modern, diverse and surprisingly green. For our stay, we deliberately sought a hotel that was not located in the tourist centre, but was still well connected and offered a high level of comfort. We chose the Conrad Singapore Orchard Road, a hotel with a rich history that reopened under a new name in early 2024 after extensive renovations. In this hotel review, we report in detail on our experiences at the Conrad Singapore Orchard Road in October 2025.
Upon arriving in Singapore, we knew exactly what we wanted for our first few nights: a centrally located, comfortable hotel that also allowed us to take advantage of our Hilton status benefits. We chose the Conrad Singapore Marina Bay, a well-known luxury hotel in the heart of the city, which until recently was known as the Conrad Centennial Singapore. In this review, we share our personal impressions of the location, the rooms, the breakfast, the Executive Lounge, and the recreational facilities, and we'll show you who would particularly enjoy staying at this hotel.
Our long-haul flight with Turkish Airlines Economy Class on the Airbus A350 took us from Istanbul to Singapore. A modern aircraft, Do & Co catering, and a comprehensive in-flight entertainment program sounded like solid prerequisites for a pleasant flight. In this review, we describe our experiences with booking, the cabin, the seat, the food on board, and the in-flight entertainment, and assess how well Economy Class actually performed on this route.
After arriving on Singapore Airlines from Kuala Lumpur, we made our way from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3. We could have also gone to the Business Lounge in Terminal 2, but I had read that the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge in Terminal 3 only reopened in November 2021 after extensive renovations and expansion. Find out if the trip was worth it in the lounge review.
The route from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore was the busiest international flight route in the world in 2018 with 30,187 flights per year, according to an analysis by travel information service OAG Aviation Worldwide. The coronavirus pandemic has certainly reduced this figure significantly. Nevertheless, there are still numerous daily connections between the two Southeast Asian metropolises. We opted for a morning flight with Singapore Airlines. I was very excited to see what the Singapore Airlines Business Class Boeing 737-800 NG had to offer in regional traffic.
In July 2016, I was lucky enough to be on the maiden flight of Singapore Airlines' Airbus A350-900 from Düsseldorf. I have already written a detailed article about this. In this review, I would like to tell you what the return flight in the Singapore Airlines Business Class Airbus A350-900 from Singapore to Düsseldorf was like. There is also a brief insight into the First and Business Class SilverKris Lounge at Singapore Airport.
An aircraft must be evacuated within 90 seconds. To ensure they can respond correctly and quickly in an emergency, airlines regularly train their personnel. But evacuation via the emergency slide of an Airbus A380 isn't the only part of the training schedule; makeup and service also need to be perfected. At the Singapore Airlines Training Center, I was able to get a glimpse behind the scenes.
The range of hotels in Singapore is huge. The closer you get to the famous Marina Bay, the more luxurious and expensive the rooms become. During my last stay in the Southeast Asian city state, I stayed at the posh Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore. In the following hotel review, you can find out what you can expect in the 5-star hotel with 608 rooms, which is unassuming from the outside.
At 06:10 on 22 July 2016, the Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900 landed in the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital for the first time and was traditionally greeted with a water fountain. From now on, the renowned five-star airline will be connecting Düsseldorf Airport with its hub in Singapore three times a week non-stop. I was lucky enough to be on the inaugural Singapore Airlines Business Class flight in the Airbus A350-900 from Düsseldorf.
Starting July 21, 2016, Düsseldorf will be the third German city served by Singapore Airlines. The non-stop flights to and from Singapore will be operated with the new Airbus A350-900. We will be present on the inaugural Düsseldorf-Singapore flight of the latest addition to the Singapore Airlines fleet.
