We were therefore curious to see how the Qatar Airways Economy Class fared on our flight from Munich to Doha, with an onward flight to the Maldives. If you want to fly within Germany from Munich to Berlin, you used to fly with Air Berlin or Lufthansa. Since 30 May, the Dutch airline Transavia has joined the group. Unlike Lufthansa and Air Berlin, Transavia flies to Schoenefeld Airport twice a day. So I took the plunge and flew with Transavia Economy Class in the Boeing 737-800 to Berlin.

Planespotting at Munich Airport

Munich Airport is Germany's second-largest airport. It has two parallel runways (South 26L/08R and North 26R/08L), which are used for takeoffs and landings depending on the wind direction. Due to the relatively large distance between the two runways, changing position during planespotting is often difficult. Typically, aircraft heading south or east are handled on the south runway.
