Welcome to our travel blog miles-around! We are the German-language travel blog for couples and families who want to get more out of their travels. We share our first-hand experiences of flying in Business Class and Premium Economy Class, test international airport lounges – from Priority Pass to exclusive airline lounges – and review hotels ranging from four-star establishments to true luxury resorts. Our long-haul flight with Turkish Airlines Economy Class on the Airbus A350 took us from Istanbul to Singapore. A modern aircraft, Do & Co catering, and a comprehensive in-flight entertainment program sounded like solid prerequisites for a pleasant flight. Our summer holiday was just around the corner and we were still looking for a suitable destination. As we had already been to Greece over Whitsun, we decided against the Mediterranean. The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is one of the best airport hotels in the world and has won several awards at the Skytrax World Airport Awards. It is located directly at Singapore Changi Airport. We tested the hotel for one night before our return journey and report on the booking, location and rooms in this review. We also answer the question of whether an overnight stay at the multi-award-winning airport hotel is really worth it.
Conrad Singapore Orchard
Singapore is one of Asia's most exciting cities. It is modern, diverse and surprisingly green. For our stay, we deliberately sought a hotel that was not located in the tourist centre, but was still well connected and offered a high level of comfort. We chose the Conrad Singapore Orchard Road, a hotel with a rich history that reopened under a new name in early 2024 after extensive renovations. In this hotel review, we report in detail on our experiences at the Conrad Singapore Orchard Road in October 2025.
Conrad Singapore Marina Bay
Upon arriving in Singapore, we knew exactly what we wanted for our first few nights: a centrally located, comfortable hotel that also allowed us to take advantage of our Hilton status benefits. We chose the Conrad Singapore Marina Bay, a well-known luxury hotel in the heart of the city, which until recently was known as the Conrad Centennial Singapore. Hilton Świnoujście Resort & Spa
We have been to Usedom many times and visited Świnoujście on several occasions, but had never tried the Hilton Świnoujście Resort & Spa before. We wanted to change that this autumn. At first glance, it was clear that a lot had changed around the promenade. In this review, I share our experiences: from booking and upgrading to a suite to breakfast and the water park. The marhaba Lounge in Singapore Terminal 1 is one of the lounges at Singapore Changi Airport that is open to many travellers – whether they hold a business class ticket, are members of a lounge programme, or pay for access. We visited it before our flight to find out whether it offers a relaxing alternative to the terminal or falls short of expectations.
iGA Lounge Istanbul
On our flight from Berlin to Singapore, we had a layover of several hours in Istanbul and used the time to try out the iGA Lounge Istanbul in the international departure area. The lounge is known for its large size, wide range of food and various areas. Whether the visit was really worthwhile, whether the iGA Lounge Istanbul is one of the best Priority Pass lounges worldwide and how well we were able to relax there quickly became apparent during our stay.
The Lounge Cancún (Terminal 4)
Before our return flight to Germany, we took the opportunity to relax once more at Cancún Airport. Terminal 4 is home to The Lounge Cancún (Air Transat). After check-in and security, we looked for a place to spend our last few hours in Mexico relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the terminal.
