From the Brooklyn Bridge, we headed straight to Midtown to climb the Empire State Building. Since it was still late afternoon, our original plan was to experience New York at dusk and at night from above. However, we had to abandon this plan immediately upon arrival due to the sheer number of visitors in line. This was partly due to the very thorough security checks, which had already cost us a lot of time over the past few days. I've only ever experienced such a "fuss" in the US in New York.
The New York Pass included both admission to the Empire State Building and a ride on the Skyride. The Skyride consists of several stations, the highlight of which is a simulator ride through New York's landmarks. Afterwards, we took the elevator to the observation deck. By now, it was just after 9 p.m. and night had fallen. But a big city looks simply magnificent in the dark with its thousands of lights. But see for yourself!
