Booking, arrival and check-in
As usual, I booked the Hilton Bangkok Sukhumvit directly through the Hilton website, as that's the only way I can collect points for free nights and take advantage of my Hilton Diamond status. Besides, the prices on other booking portals weren't any cheaper.

Since we only started the journey in the late afternoon Singapore Airlines Regional Business Class After arriving in Bangkok from Singapore and still having to arrange a rental car, we didn't arrive at the hotel until the evening. Check-in was very friendly and there were no long waits. We received a free upgrade from our booked King Deluxe room to a King Premium Executive room.
Where is the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok located?
The Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok and its sister hotel, the DoubleTree Bangkok Sukhumvit, offer a prime location in the heart of this vibrant metropolis. Nestled in the lively Sukhumvit district, it offers a variety of activities and attractions, from trendy shopping malls and vibrant street markets to hip restaurants and bars. Furthermore, the Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain station is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. Those arriving by car, like us, can use the hotel's free underground parking garage.

What are the rooms like (King Premium Executive) at the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok?
The furnishings in our King Premium Executive Room were a bit dated, but still in good condition. The design, with its dark wood veneer and lots of chrome, wasn't quite to our taste. In the entrance area, there was a large wardrobe, a suitcase rack, and a well-stocked minibar in another closet. A light brown leather armchair and a large desk with a comfortable desk chair, two power outlets, and an HDMI port for the TV were located by the floor-to-ceiling windows at the rear of the room. Against the wall was a large, comfortable bed with a nightstand on each side. Unfortunately, there was only one power outlet on each side of the bed.

The spacious bathroom was separated from the hallway by a sliding door. The rain shower and bathtub were located in a separate area of the bathroom separated by a glass door. The panoramic window from the shower to the bedroom took some getting used to, but could be closed with a blind upon request. The toilet was also separated from the bathroom by a frosted glass door. However, we found this area a bit cramped.

What is breakfast like at the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok?
Breakfast at the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok is served at the Scalini Restaurant on the second floor of the hotel. The hotel restaurant boasts a modern and elegant industrial design with plenty of glass and metal, creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Every morning, we were warmly welcomed and, after checking our room number, shown to our chosen seating. Depending on the guest's status, a small paper sign was placed on the table—but as Diamonds, we didn't notice any real effect. In addition to coffee specialties, a signature drink was served daily, ranging from Panpan to Lokal Butterfly Pea.

The food selection was as impressive as it was diverse, with a wealth of international and local dishes. From freshly baked croissants and fruit to savory egg dishes, eggs Benedict, and various Asian delicacies.

What is the Executive Lounge like at Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok?
Access to the Executive Lounge at the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok is complimentary for guests with Diamond status. Guests who have booked an Executive room also have access to the lounge. The lounge is located on the fourth floor and can only be reached via elevator with an activated room card. Like the rooms, the lounge is very dark. Black marble on the walls, large dark brown leather sofas, and dark wooden floors create the feel of an English salon. In addition to the lounge area, there are three meeting rooms and a small outdoor area, although this doesn't offer a great view because the lounge is located on the fourth floor.

The hotel's opening hours were contradictory. Upon check-in, we were told the lounge was open for breakfast. We eventually discovered that it's open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Soft drinks, water, and juices are available during these hours. A fully automatic coffee machine is also available.

In addition to the all-day drinks menu, afternoon tea is served from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A variety of delicacies such as scones, tarts, and savory sandwiches are served at the buffet. The Hilton Sukhumvit also invites guests to the evening reception in the Executive Lounge daily from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. On the days we were guests, there was always a salad buffet, several small canapés, cheese, a soup, and at least two hot dishes. The hot dishes included options such as satay skewers, curries, or European braised dishes. In addition to the food, there was also a wide selection of drinks. Not only the typical soft drinks, but also local beers and various wines were available. There was also a wide selection of fine spirits, which the staff were happy to mix into long drinks or cocktails. A delicious non-alcoholic cocktail was also mixed for our son, even though there wasn't one on the menu.

The friendly and courteous staff in the lounge deserves special mention. They cleared the table promptly, proactively asked about drink requests, and even refilled wine directly at the table.
What does the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok offer for relaxation?
The Hilton Bangkok Sukhumvit has a beautiful small infinity pool on the roof. With a handful of comfortable loungers, guests can not only enjoy the sun but also the spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding skyscrapers and the vibrant city below. Next to the pool are a bar and a small gym.
