After more than a week, our stay in Malaysia was unfortunately already over. Before flying with Singapore Airlines via Singapore to Bangkok, we were able to relax in the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur before our departure. Find out what the lounge in the international departures area of Terminal 1 has to offer and how to access it in our lounge review.
Where is the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur?
The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur is located in the international departures area of Terminal 1. Immediately after passport control and another customs check, the lounge entrance is located at the beginning of Gate G. The lounge itself is located on the upper floor, accessible via an escalator. The route to the lounge is clearly signposted. Incidentally, the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur shares the reception area with the First Class Lounge of the same name, which unfortunately offers a better view, namely of the apron.

Who has access to the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur?
We had access to the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur through our business class flight ticket from Kuala Lumpur. We could also have used the Priority Pass, which was included in the American Express Platinum Credit card included, had free access and could also bring a guest. If you do not have any of the above options, you can also access the lounge via the official website At the time of our lounge review, the entry fee for 2 hours was 194 MYR (approx. 40 EUR).
What are the features of the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur?
The Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur has a modern design and offers a variety of seating options. Immediately after the entrance, there's a seating area with various leather armchairs on the left. The central area, visually divided by wood and metal decorations, houses the restaurant area with tables, chairs, and benches. The space is further enlivened by several plants. At the rear of the lounge, there's a room called the Living Room, which is quieter than the other seating areas in the lounge. There are plenty of power outlets and charging points in each seating area.

In general, the lounge was very noisy, despite various structural measures being taken. If you want to escape the noise and relax in a private atmosphere before your flight, the lounge offers private meeting rooms. However, the rates are quite high at 2,000 MYR (approximately 400 EUR) per hour.
What is available to eat and drink at the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur?
The food selection was decent for a contract lounge. During our stay, the Plaza Premium Lounge Kuala Lumpur offered a variety of breakfast dishes each morning. In addition to cornflakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon, there was also salad and various cakes. Other hot dishes and Malaysian specialties were freshly prepared in a live kitchen.

We found the drinks selection somewhat disappointing. There was a bar with various cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine, but these were subject to payment, and prices ranged from 34-50 MYR (6-10 EUR). Beyond that, there was only water and orange juice, as well as a vending machine for soft drinks. One negative aspect was that the drinks unfortunately only came in plastic cups.
