Piemonte Lounge Turin

Piemonte Lounge Turin

After our weekend trip to Italy's secret capital, we visited the Piemonte Lounge Turin before our return flight. Read on to find out what our stay in the contract lounge was like and what facilities and services you can expect.

Where is the Piemonte Lounge Turin located?

After quickly passing through security using the Fast Track service, it was just a short walk to the exclusive Piemonte Lounge. The lounge is strategically located on the third floor of Turin Airport, which not only ensures easy access but also offers impressive views of the airport and surrounding area. Travelers can choose between using the spiral staircase or the elevator to reach the lounge.

Who has access to the Piemonte Lounge Turin?

Access to the Piemonte Lounge in Turin can vary depending on the lounge's policies and agreements. Generally, the following people have access: Business Class or First Class passengers, frequent flyers of certain frequent flyer programs depending on their status, Priority Pass holders, members of certain credit card programs, or simply by purchasing a day pass. We were able to access the lounge due to my Star Alliance Gold status.

What are the features of the Piemonte Lounge Turin?

In the lounge's entrance area were four separate workstations, which offered more privacy thanks to the wood paneling. Two monitors displaying departure information hung on the wall, and below them was a selection of newspapers.

The adjoining lounge area essentially consisted of two separate seating sections. These were furnished with light, cream-colored leather armchairs and each separated by a side table with a power outlet and two USB ports. The front, and therefore right-hand, seating section opened onto the airport apron and offered a great view of the runway. We found a spot in the somewhat quieter left-hand seating section. There was also a large workspace with several bar stools there. This area also had plenty of power outlets and USB ports.

iPads were available throughout the lounge for free internet use. The free Wi-Fi was pleasantly fast and available everywhere in the lounge.

What food and drinks are available at the Piemonte Lounge in Turin?

The service and the selection of food and drinks were generally unsatisfactory. There was a cold buffet with various salads, cheeses, fruit, and pastries. The refrigerator contained yogurt and other items that needed refrigeration. Overall, the food selection was limited.

Drinks were only available at a bar with table service. There was a selection of wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. As is typical in Italy, there was also a barista preparing fresh coffee. We ordered a white wine and a cappuccino.

Waiting in the Piemonte Lounge in Turin was more pleasant than in the crowded rest of the airport building. There were plenty of seats available and the view of the apron was very nice. However, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of service and the range of food and drinks on offer.

Christian

My name is Christian, I was born in the green heart of Germany and studied computer engineering in Ilmenau. Today, I live with my wife Christin and our son in Merseburg, but work in Leipzig as a product manager. For me, travelling has always been more than just a change of scenery. I loved getting on a plane, discovering new cuisines and feeling at home in special hotels. This mixture of enjoyment, curiosity and wanderlust was the reason why I started writing about my experiences on this blog back in 2007. Whether it was a spontaneous weekend adventure or a big trip across continents, I wanted to share my passion and show how many beautiful stories the world has to offer. And to this day, I am always on the lookout for the next place that will surprise me.
