Berlin is one of Europe's most multifaceted metropolises – a city that uniquely blends history, culture, and modernity. This page compiles all of miles-around's Berlin articles: personal accounts of overnight stays and travel experiences in the German capital.

Included are hotel reviews of the Hilton Berlin, the largest five-star hotel in the capital, ideally located at Gendarmenmarkt, and the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade – both offering discerning travelers and Hilton Honors members an excellent base for exploring the city. The archive also includes an early behind-the-scenes look at the then-under-construction Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). These articles are aimed at city travelers and frequent flyers who plan their Berlin trip with comfort in mind and want to know which hotel in the capital offers the best overall experience.

Hilton Berlin

The Hilton Berlin is the largest five-star hotel in the capital and boasts a fascinating history. Shortly before reunification, the East German hotel chain Interhotel began construction, and it opened in November 1990 as the Domhotel. Hilton acquired the hotel just one year later. We were curious to see what luxury awaited us at the Hilton Berlin.

We won tickets to the Frequent Traveler University (FTU), which took place in Berlin from June 10th to 12th, 2016. The FTU offered interesting insights into various customer loyalty programs from hotels and airlines through a series of presentations. The venue was the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade, so it made sense to book a room there for two nights.

Experience BER – The Tour

Berlin Brandenburg Airport "Willy Brandt," or BER for short, has been under construction since September 5, 2006, on the southern outskirts of Berlin in Schönefeld, Brandenburg. Whether and when it will ever open is still uncertain at this point. We're taking the opportunity for a unique tour of the airport grounds.
