Apr\u00e8s un copieux petit-d\u00e9jeuner \u00e0 Best Western Plus Posada Royale Hotel & Suites<\/a> \u00c0 Simi Valley, nous avons pris notre voiture de location pour nous rendre \u00e0 la biblioth\u00e8que pr\u00e9sidentielle Ronald Reagan.<\/p>\n\n\n

La Biblioth\u00e8que pr\u00e9sidentielle, inaugur\u00e9e en 1991 par Ronald Wilson Reagan, 40e pr\u00e9sident des \u00c9tats-Unis, n'est pas une biblioth\u00e8que traditionnelle, mais plut\u00f4t un lieu de conservation de documents, de r\u00e9compenses et d'autres objets historiques (par exemple, un fragment du mur de Berlin). Le mus\u00e9e est ouvert de 10 h \u00e0 17 h. Plus d'informations et la billetterie en ligne sont disponibles sur le site web officiel. http:\/\/www.reaganfoundation.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gr\u00e2ce aux billets achet\u00e9s en ligne, nous avons pu entrer dans le mus\u00e9e d\u00e8s son ouverture, sans longue attente. Munis d'un plan, nous avons explor\u00e9 les diff\u00e9rentes expositions. Nombre d'entre elles retracent diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9tapes de la vie de l'ancien acteur hollywoodien et pr\u00e9sident am\u00e9ricain Ronald Reagan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La r\u00e9plique \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle 1:1 du Bureau ovale de la Maison-Blanche \u00e9tait impressionnante. Anecdote amusante\u00a0: la hauteur sous plafond d'origine de 5,60 m\u00e8tres n'ayant pas obtenu l'autorisation d'urbanisme \u00e0 Simi Valley, la r\u00e9plique a simplement \u00e9t\u00e9 construite plus profond\u00e9ment dans le sol.<\/p>\n\n\n

Biblioth\u00e8que pr\u00e9sidentielle Ronald Reagan : Pavillon Air Force One<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le clou de notre visite fut sans conteste le pavillon Air Force One, inaugur\u00e9 en 2005. Nous y avons admir\u00e9 le Boeing 707 modifi\u00e9, qui fut l'avion officiel non seulement de Ronald Reagan, mais aussi de Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter et George H.W. Bush. Nous avons eu la chance de visiter l'int\u00e9rieur de l'appareil. Des guides \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sents dans les diff\u00e9rents compartiments, partageant avec nous des anecdotes et des informations int\u00e9ressantes. Malheureusement, pour des raisons qui nous \u00e9chappent, les photos y sont interdites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outre Air Force One, ce pavillon abrite \u00e9galement l'h\u00e9licopt\u00e8re Marine One et plusieurs v\u00e9hicules, dont la limousine pr\u00e9sidentielle. \u00c0 noter que les passagers mesurant plus de 1,70 m\u00e8tre ne peuvent se tenir debout ni \u00e0 bord de l'h\u00e9licopt\u00e8re Marine One expos\u00e9, ni \u00e0 bord de l'appareil actuellement en service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin, nous avons visit\u00e9 le magnifique cimeti\u00e8re paysager o\u00f9 repose Ronald Reagan. Il y a \u00e9t\u00e9 inhum\u00e9 le 11 juin 2004. D'ailleurs, l'ancienne Premi\u00e8re dame Nancy vivrait toujours tout pr\u00e8s de la biblioth\u00e8que.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
