Which is the best credit card for withdrawing money while traveling?<\/h2>\n

For us, the best credit card is the VISA card from Deutsche Kreditbank AG (DKB). We've been using it since 2010 and have had nothing but positive experiences. At first, I only enjoyed the advantage of being able to withdraw cash at any ATM in Germany without fees. Now that we travel a lot, we're grateful to be able to use this advantage abroad as well. Gone are the days when you had to stock up on a large amount of cash in foreign currency at your local bank or travel bank beforehand.<\/p>\n

What are the advantages of the VISA DKB credit card?<\/h2>\n

The account and the VISA credit card are completely free. There are absolutely no hidden fees. With the DKB credit card, you can withdraw local currency at any ATM worldwide. We've successfully tested this in many Southeast Asian countries (Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.) as well as while traveling in the USA. With the DKB credit card, you're in the comfortable position of only withdrawing and carrying small amounts of cash with you. We simply feel much more comfortable and secure with it.<\/p>\n

We also find DKB's cashback program (DKB Club) quite interesting. Here, you can get small discounts both online and in-store. For example, on our last visit to Potsdam, we ate at an Asian restaurant and received a full refund of 10% thanks to DKB.<\/p>\n

Danger!<\/strong> In some countries, such as the USA, banks still charge fees for ATM withdrawals. This is a processing fee charged by the ATM operator. But DKB is very accommodating in this regard, too, and refunds them immediately. All we had to do was email DKB a brief summary of all the fees incurred.<\/del> Update 31.03.2016:<\/strong> As of June 1, DKB will no longer reimburse third-party fees charged by ATM operators.

This new feature will be available for testing for one year. After that, it will only be available to active customers with a monthly incoming balance of EUR 700. However, free cash withdrawals from ATMs worldwide will continue to be available.<\/del>\u00a0Update 28.09.2016:<\/strong> If you're not actively using the account, cash withdrawals and foreign transactions are only free within the eurozone.
