Upon our arrival at Berlin-Tegel Airport, the SAS check-in in Terminal D was not yet open. So we decided to quickly check in online to get to the Lufthansa<\/a> I got to the Senator Lounge in the main terminal. I later quickly dropped off our suitcase for the extended weekend trip to Copenhagen on my own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa Senator Lounge (Berlin-Tegel)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The lounge was quite full today. It is Friday evening after all, and everyone wants to go home, or like us, on a short trip. For dinner, we had Berlin-style meatballs with pasta salad and a cold beer. Perfect for the hot weather, Lufthansa now also has an ice cream freezer with frozen yogurt. Delicious!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lounge normally closes at 9:15 p.m. with the last scheduled Lufthansa flight. However, since there were still delayed flights, we were able to stay until just before boarding began. At 9:45 p.m., we finally made our way to Terminal D and said goodbye to the Senator Lounge, wishing everyone a "relaxing evening"!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boarding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airport's temporary extension, Terminal D, also known as the "gym," is a short walk from the main terminal. Boarding at Gate D75 began at 10:00 PM. An Airbus A319-100 (registration: OY-KBO, christened: Christian Valdemar Viking) with a "Scandinavian Airlines System" retro livery was waiting for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAS offers only Economy Class travel within Europe. They differentiate between SAS Plus and Go. The two options differ primarily in service. SAS Plus includes complimentary drinks (including alcoholic beverages) and a meal. Checked baggage is included in both classes.<\/p>\n\n\n

We opted for the cheaper SAS Go and sat in seats 12E and F today. The legroom was fine for me, at 1.83 m tall, for a short flight. The plane was barely full and we were able to make our pushback on time at 10:10 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 10:24 PM, our pilot took off heading east. The short flight was uneventful. Aside from a chocolate bonbon, there was no other service. After crossing the \u00d6resund Bridge, we landed at Copenhagen Airport at 11:02 PM. After collecting our luggage, which arrived quite quickly thanks to the priority label, we set off on the short walk to our hotel.
