This time, we had the absolutely delicious frozen melon and lychee juice and wontons as a starter. For his main course, Christian chose the Nyonya Chicken Curry, made with coriander, lemongrass, and a turmeric paste. It came with briefly fried Asian vegetables, egg, chicken, and rice. I had the Thai beef salad with perfectly cooked strips of beef tenderloin. They really know their stuff! The food here is absolutely delicious.<\/p>\n
Night Market<\/h2>\n
The Night Market takes place every day from around 5:00 PM. What's special about it is its location, as it changes daily. You definitely need to find out in advance where it is. On Thursdays, for example, it's in Cenang, or rather, very close by. So we set off. Since we were coming from our trip to Gunung Raya that day, we took a different route into Cenang than usual and thus stumbled upon the Night Market quite by chance. We never would have guessed it was there and probably would have searched for it endlessly once we were inside Cenang. The market was smaller than we had expected. Somehow, it looked much more spacious in the photos online.<\/p>\n There's practically everything, from clothes and toys to sweets and fruit, and of course fish and meat, both raw and cooked. We actually wanted to eat here, since we'd read so many good things about it online. But when we saw all the flies on the food and realized how long some of the meat had been sitting in the sun, we lost our appetite. Maybe we shouldn't have been so fussy and just tried something?! Somehow, though, we just didn't feel like it. Watching the colorful market bustle was still fun, though.
