An upgrade to Condor Premium Economy Class \u2013 is it really worth it on long-haul flights? We flew Condor's Airbus A330neo from Frankfurt to Canc\u00fan and tested what Premium Economy Class has to offer on board \u2013 from seat comfort to catering and in-flight entertainment. We share our impressions and experiences in this detailed review.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How did we book our flight?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Our flight with Condor to Canc\u00fan was part of a package tour to Mexico and was initially booked in the classic Economy Class. When we wanted to view our booking on the Condor website, the airline offered us an upgrade to Premium Economy Class for 180 euros or to Business Class for 780 euros \u2013 each for the outbound flight only. Things really got interesting, however, during online check-in 24 hours before departure: There, we were offered an upgrade to Premium Economy Class for 99 euros per person. We immediately accepted this offer. Condor wanted to charge an additional 18 euros per person for seat reservation. We declined this, hoping that the system would automatically assign us three adjoining seats. This calculation actually worked: We landed in row 16 in seats E, F, and G in the middle block. While these weren't exactly our favorite seats, they were significantly better than spending an extra 54 euros. In general, you'll notice that Condor charges additional fees in many areas: from seat reservations to guaranteed hand luggage space and upgrades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition to the classic upgrade offers, there is also the option of SeatBoost app<\/a> to bid on available seats in higher travel classes. A live auction runs from 24 hours until shortly before departure. For our flight, the minimum bid was \u20ac75 for Premium Economy Class and \u20ac495 for Business Class. With a bit of luck, you can get a better seat at a bargain price. In this case, however, we opted for the fixed offer during online check-in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is the cabin and seat like in the Condor Premium Economy Airbus A330neo?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Condor Premium Economy Airbus A330neo begins directly behind the first door on the right and extends from row 10 to 19. Like Economy Class, the cabin is arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration, meaning there are two window seats and four seats in the middle. With a seat pitch of 89 cm, Condor offers significantly more comfort than in regular Economy Class, even though airlines like SWISS in the Premium Economy Class of the Boeing 777<\/a> At 99 cm, they offer slightly more legroom. The cabin itself is separated from Economy Class only by a narrow divider in the ceiling. This is also evident in the restroom situation: While the front restroom on the left is shared by Premium Economy and Economy passengers, the restroom on the right is reserved exclusively for Business Class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The seats are upholstered in dark blue fabric and can be reclined up to 12 degrees. The headrest is height-adjustable and folds back at the sides, which is useful for supporting your head while sleeping. There's also a footrest that noticeably increases comfort on long-haul flights. We really liked the practical storage compartments: In addition to the sturdy folding table, there's an additional small compartment below the monitor\u2014ideal for a smartphone or drink. The monitor itself features both a USB-A and a USB-C port, and there's a power outlet under every other seat. The adjustable screen has a headphone jack. A simple headset and a bottle of water are provided free of charge. Other amenities include a blanket, a large pillow, and a cardboard amenity kit containing socks, a sleep mask, and a toothbrush. There's also a small travel organizer in the Condor design\u2014on our flight, it was green and white striped. Earplugs are available upon request from the crew. All in all, the Premium Economy Class on Condor's A330neo offers solid amenities that make the flight significantly more pleasant than regular Economy Class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is available to eat and drink in the Condor Premium Economy Airbus A330neo?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Shortly after takeoff, service in Premium Economy Class began with a light aperitif. The crew served a bag of crackers and sparkling wine or orange juice in plastic cups. At the same time, the menu, which provided an overview of the food and beverage options on board, was distributed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
