At the end of 2023, the time had finally come: The Lounge Leipzig\/Halle opened at my home airport, Leipzig\/Halle. During the coronavirus pandemic, the Lufthansa lounges in Leipzig and at many other smaller airports in Germany were completely shut down. And even when travel activity picked up again in 2022, the lounges remained closed. So it was welcome news to discover this new lounge and see what it had to offer before my flight from Leipzig to Frankfurt.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Where is The Lounge Leipzig\/Halle located?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Lounge Leipzig\/Halle is located on the upper floor of the departure building, opposite the waiting area for the airport's few departure gates. Since the routes in Leipzig are very short, it's virtually impossible to miss The Lounge. After the security check, go through the duty-free shop and then take the escalator at the front. Once at the top, the Airport Lounge is on the right. The Lounge is open daily from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Who has access to The Lounge Leipzig\/Halle?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Lounge Leipzig\/Halle is a classic contract lounge of the Global Lounge Network. Access is available to members of Priority Pass, Lounge Key, Lounge Pass, OnPass, and the Global Lounge Network. Access can also be purchased on-site, independent of membership or airline, for \u20ac30.00 per person. You can easily decide for yourself whether it's worth it after reading my lounge review. I used The Lounge via Priority Pass, which is included with the American Express Platinum<\/a> is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is The Lounge Leipzig\/Halle equipped with?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The lounge is located in the former Lufthansa Business Lounge (Here you can find our Lounge Review<\/a>This part of the former Senator Lounge is dark and serves as a storage area and retreat for the lounge staff. However, the area has no privacy screen or recognizable boundaries, so everything is visible from the entrance, creating a very messy and makeshift impression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The lounge's furniture is the same as it was during the Lufthansa era. There are various leather armchairs and sofas in light to dark brown. Only the loungers are gone. The mural is also still there. In the buffet area, there are still three tables with blue chairs, which were also there during the Lufthansa era. There is also a work area with four desks with privacy screens. Unfortunately, the lounge does not have its own restrooms. The restrooms are located in the public area near the lounge entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is there to eat and drink at The Lounge Leipzig\/Halle?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Since the buffet's furniture was completely reused from Lufthansa's inventory, the food selection is similar to what it was before. There were three hot dishes, including a type of Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancake), as well as fruit and yogurt, as well as various cold cuts and rolls. Since I visited The Lounge Leipzig\/Halle on a Sunday afternoon, there were also two different cakes and snacks on the small buffet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The drinks selection was limited but sufficient. Non-alcoholic drinks included Sprite, Coke, tonic, bitter lemon, various coffees from the fully automatic machine, several types of tea, and two juices. There were also various beers, wine, and some spirits such as vodka, rum, Lillet, Aperol, and whiskey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
