The Tempelhof Lounge at BER Airport is the second large airport lounge at the new capital city airport. We were privileged to visit it before our early morning flight with Turkish Airlines. Find out what we liked about the lounge and where there might still be room for improvement in our lounge review.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Where is the Tempelhof Lounge at BER?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Tempelhof Lounge is located at BER Airport, behind the central security checkpoint, at the left corner of the U-shaped terminal (near Gate A20). The location is very convenient, as the lounge can be used by both Schengen and non-Schengen passengers. The route to the Tempelhof Lounge is very well signposted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Who has access to the Tempelhof Lounge at BER?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Access is available to many business class passengers on flights outside the Star Alliance, with the exception of Turkish Airlines and United Airlines. The list of eligible airlines is accordingly long and can be updated daily on the BER Airport website<\/a> Access to the Tempelhof Lounge can also be purchased for a fee of \u20ac48. Unfortunately, the Tempelhof Lounge does not participate in the Priority Pass program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is the Tempelhof Lounge equipped with?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    To access the lounge, you must take the stairs or elevator up one floor from Departures Level A. Check-in is located approximately in the middle of the spacious lounge. From here, seating areas extend to the left and right, offering various chairs, armchairs, loungers, and tables. Almost all armchairs and seating areas are equipped with power outlets and USB chargers. The large panoramic windows offer a good view of the apron and the aircraft at the gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The wide variety of seating options is particularly striking and worth mentioning. Bar stools with high tables, lounge chairs, recliners, as well as regular tables and chairs ensure that everyone can find a suitable spot. There are even two meeting rooms, but these must be reserved explicitly (cost: \u20ac100). There are no announcements in the lounge, but there are plenty of display boards with current departure information. The restrooms are located near check-in and were clean and bright. A shower is also available. Particularly worth mentioning is the exclusive access to passport control if the flight departs from Concourse C, which is a non-Schengen area, as was the case with ours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is available to eat and drink at the Tempelhof Lounge?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We were in the lounge early in the morning shortly after 5 a.m. Breakfast was still being served in the Tempelhof Lounge. However, the selection was somewhat limited. The cold buffet offered cold cuts, cheeses, Obazda (traditional Bavarian sausage), sausage salad, and herb quark, while the hot buffet offered scrambled eggs, white sausage, and patatas bravas (traditional patatas bravas). There were also croissants, pretzels, sweet spreads, and fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The drinks selection, however, was very extensive and, for me, an absolute highlight of the lounge. In addition to the usual drinks like coffee, water, various soft drinks and juices, and beer, there was also a very large selection of spirits. There was Scottish and Japanese whisky, four different types of gin, and, somewhat surprisingly, an eggnog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
