The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark is one of two Lufthansa lounges. Before my return flight to Copenhagen with SAS, I used the time at the airport to visit the lounge.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Where is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark is located in Terminal B of the airport in Gates 60\u201368. In this case, the information about the gates is indeed very important, because the security checkpoint at Newark Airport is located in front of each gate area, not at the beginning of the terminal as usual. Gates 60\u201368 are used by all Star Alliance partners except United Airlines and Air Canada. After the security checkpoint, the entrance to the Lufthansa lounges is on the left side of the aisle. Newark Airport has a Business Lounge and a Senator Lounge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Both the Lufthansa Senator Lounge and the Lufthansa Business Lounge are accessible via the same entrance and are open daily from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Lufthansa Senator Lounge is located to the left after the entrance checkpoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Who has access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Lufthansa and Star Alliance First Class passengers have access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark. Miles and More frequent flyers with Senator and HON Circle status, as well as passengers with Star Alliance Gold status, also have access and can invite one additional guest. In all cases, a valid boarding pass for a Lufthansa or Star Alliance flight departing from Newark on the same day is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark equipped with?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Upon entering the lounge, you'll find the entrance control and the Senator Lounge on the left and the Business Lounge on the right. Directly behind the entrance is the rather small lounge area. This has several seating areas, a separate work area, and a type of bar table. To the right of the entrance is the buffet with food and drinks. On the left is the associated dining area with tables and chairs. Here, the tables at the edge of the area are reserved for First Class passengers and HON Circle members and are set accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    At the rear of the lounge are large windows overlooking a corridor and the apron beyond. This passageway is used to guide arriving passengers to immigration. Most of the chairs and work areas are equipped with ample power outlets and are separated by small tables with lamps. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is also available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Strangely, there was no shelf in the lounge with a selection of newspapers and magazines, which are usually available in almost all Lufthansa lounges. Perhaps this service was also discontinued in Newark due to the pandemic. A real shame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is available to eat and drink in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The buffet in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark offers both hot and cold dishes. On my visit, there were four hot dishes and a soup to choose from. The selection of hot dishes was very international, with options including Moroccan lenti soup, German sauerkraut, and potato gratin. The cold buffet offered a variety of salads, wraps, and a caramel pudding. All in all, a very good and tasty selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In terms of drinks, the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Newark features a well-stocked bar and a diverse selection of non-alcoholic beverages. In addition to spirits, beer, and wine, there's also the usual selection of soft drinks and juices. The beer selection included Warsteiner and K\u00f6nig Ludwig on draft, as well as several local pale ales in bottles. A fully automatic coffee machine was also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The staff in the Lufthansa Lounge were very friendly, and the tables in the restaurant area were quickly cleared and cleaned. However, we were also in the lounge at a very quiet time, so there was generally little for the staff to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
