The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg is one of two Lufthansa lounges at the airport in the Hanseatic city. Due to a trip to New York (via Copenhagen with SAS), I flew from Hamburg for the first time and accordingly paid a visit to the lounge. In this lounge review, I will share my experiences and impressions of the facilities, the food and drink on offer and reveal the absolute highlight of the lounge.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Where is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Lufthansa Senator Lounge is located in Terminal 2 of Hamburg Airport. After the security check, the route to Gate A was clearly signposted. Almost at the end of the terminal, near Gate A19, there is a staircase leading to the lounge on the second floor. There is also an elevator hidden in a side corridor in front of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Both the Lufthansa Senator Lounge and the Lufthansa Business Lounge are accessible via the same entrance and are open daily from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Lufthansa Senator Lounge is located to the right after the entry check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Who has access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Frequent flyers in the Miles & More program with Senator or HON Circle status, as well as passengers with Star Alliance Gold status, can use the Lufthansa Senator Lounge and bring a guest. Lufthansa and Star Alliance First Class passengers also have access to the lounge. Thanks to the collaboration with American Express, American Express Platinum Card holders are also entitled to use the lounge, provided they are traveling with a Business Class ticket on a Lufthansa or Star Alliance flight departing from Hamburg on the same day. In all cases, access is subject to presentation of a valid boarding pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg equipped with?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Senator Lounge consists of a single, long room divided into various areas for dining, relaxing, and working. To the right of the entrance is the work area. There are several visually separated desks with power outlets for undisturbed laptop work. A printer and copier are also available in the lounge. The free Wi-Fi was good and sufficiently fast throughout the lounge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Along the window front are comfortable leather armchairs or leather sofas in the various brown shades typical of Lufthansa. Between the armchairs, there are always storage areas with sufficient power outlets and USB ports. Room dividers and small shelves serve as separation and soundproofing between the individual seating areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Before entering the buffet area on the left, there are two standing tables and a separate smoking area at the rear of the lounge. There's plenty of seating around the buffet. But the absolute highlight of the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg is the outdoor terrace overlooking the apron. Tables and chairs are available here as well. Unfortunately, the terrace is closed in winter, so we're left with only the view through the windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is available to eat and drink in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    As mentioned at the beginning of the lounge review, we were in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Hamburg early Saturday morning. Accordingly, the buffet offered a variety of breakfast dishes. The offerings ranged from typical hot dishes like scrambled eggs, beans, and meatballs to cold cuts and baked goods. Typical for Hamburg, a Franzbr\u00f6tchen, a Danish pastry roll filled with cinnamon and sugar, was also a must. A second, smaller buffet offered natural yogurt, blueberry yogurt, and fruit salad. There were also a few healthy smoothies, such as vegan banana turmeric and cucumber ginger lemon. For those with a sweet tooth, there was also a sweets buffet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition to the usual soft drinks and juices, the drinks selection included beer, wine, sparkling wine, and prosecco. Various spirits, such as whiskey, vodka, and J\u00e4germeister, were also available. For hot drinks, there were two fully automatic coffee machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
