I've been to Poland frequently for work over the past year and have gotten to know and love the country, its people, and its excellent food. So, at the beginning of January, we decided to plan a weekend in Wroc\u0142aw. A Hilton sale came along just in time, allowing us to book the DoubleTree by Hilton Wroc\u0142aw for an unbeatable price of \u20ac75 per night.     Arrival and check-in<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We traveled by car from Halle (Saale) to Wroc\u0142aw. Even from afar, the futuristic-looking OVO Wroc\u0142aw Centre, with its rounded white facade made of DuPont Corian, a mineral-organic composite material, caught our eye. The DoubleTree by Hilton Wroc\u0142aw is very centrally located on a major main street. It was just a few minutes' walk to the historic market square and the Oder River promenade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We drove directly into the hotel's underground parking garage (80 PLN\/day, approx. 18 EUR). From there, an elevator led to the equally interestingly designed lobby of the DoubleTree by Hilton Wroc\u0142aw, which opened in 2016. Here, too, the color white dominated, while some walls were completely covered in dark wood, with horizontal lighting or mirrored surfaces. The floor was covered in gray cobblestones, which provided an exciting contrast to the other elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Since the DoubleTree by Hilton Wroc\u0142aw is an extension to an existing building, the resulting triangular shape created an inner courtyard. This green oasis, furnished with modern concrete seating elements, invites visitors to linger. The quiet courtyard, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic, is perfect for the bars and restaurants on the ground floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Check-in was friendly, but took a bit longer. The young lady upgraded us to a King Deluxe Room on the second floor of the hotel, gave us some sightseeing tips, and of course, a warm chocolate chip cookie. A delicious tradition at all DoubleTree hotels!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What are the rooms (King Deluxe Rooms) like at the DoubleTree by Hilton Wroclaw?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    As Hilton Diamond<\/span> As a status guest we were welcomed from our booked room with King-size bed<\/span> into a KingDeluxe Room <\/span>upgraded.<\/span> I was a bit disappointed here, as one of the smaller suites or a king-Executive Room<\/span> with a view of the garden would have been available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    But when we arrived at our room 249 on the second and top floor of the hotel, we were more than satisfied with its size and amenities. In the entrance area, there was a large closet with a safe, iron, and ironing board. Next to it, on the wall, was a long mirror with a built-in TV. The dark wood-veneered lowboard below housed the minibar, among other amenities. There was also a Nespresso capsule coffee machine and an electric kettle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The panoramic window stretched across the entire width of the room. In front of it were two armchairs with side tables. The high and quite comfortable king-size bed, with a photo print of a painting at the headboard, stood on the opposite wall from the lowboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The bathroom was sufficiently spacious. However, we found the bathtub a bit too high to climb into. There was plenty of storage space around the sink, but unfortunately not enough space to hang things. We particularly liked the heated mirror, which prevented it from fogging up even after showering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The design of the lighting and furniture blended well with the hotel's modern architectural concept. The rooms had very clean lines and were simply furnished without much frills. The mirrors and the gray tones give the room a rather cool feel, which we personally liked. All doors, whether the entrance doors or the bathroom doors, are visually flush with the wall, thus completing the simple and clean design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is breakfast like at the DoubleTree by Hilton Wroclaw?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    For breakfast, we went to the hotel restaurant, Ovo. There was a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, delicious juices, including a forest fruit smoothie, various breads, fruit, and cereals. Those who like can also enjoy a glass of sparkling wine in the morning. Upon request, the chef prepared simple egg dishes. I ordered eggs Benedict and whiled away the time with a delicious warm waffle. The eggs Benedict were delicious, not only thanks to the homemade hollandaise sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How is the Executive Lounge at DoubleTree by Hilton Wroclaw?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Thanks to our Hilton Honors Diamond status, we had access to the Executive Lounge. It was located on the second floor and open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The lounge's larger area featured several sofas and armchairs, as well as high tables for working. Newspapers and magazines in various languages were available at a central table. For dining, there was a long bench with small tables along the window front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    During the lounge's opening hours, guests could help themselves to a small buffet of snacks (chips, cookies, granola bars, etc.). Tea, coffee, cold juices, and other non-alcoholic beverages were also available throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Breakfast was served in the Executive<\/span> Lounge served from 6:30 to 10:00 and Happy Hour<\/span>, a mini-dinner with alcoholic drinks, was available from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The selection of hot and cold dishes was good \u2013 <\/span>but certainly no substitute for dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What does the DoubleTree by Hilton Wroclaw offer for relaxation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The pool and spa area aren't directly part of the hotel, but are run by the Holmes Place fitness chain. As hotel guests, we had free access to the pool, sauna, and fitness area. However, the pool is small, and there are only six loungers for relaxation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
