We were looking for a hotel in a central location for our weekend trip to Vienna. There was plenty to choose from, as the Hilton Group alone has four hotels in its portfolio. As we had already stayed at the Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront a few years ago, this time we opted for the Hilton Vienna Park. You can find out whether it was a good choice and how our biggest room upgrade to date turned out in this hotel review.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Arrival and check-in<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Due to our late arrival at Vienna Airport, we took a taxi (cost: \u20ac55) to the Hilton Vienna Park. Much cheaper and almost as fast, the S-Bahn (suburban train) and the CAT (City Airport Train), which stop directly opposite the hotel at the "Wien Mitte" station, are also a good option. The Hilton Vienna Park's location is also extremely convenient for Vienna's attractions. St. Stephen's Cathedral is just a few minutes' walk away, and the Hofburg Palace and the Museumsquartier are also nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Despite our late arrival at 10 p.m., the reception desk was still busy. Thanks to our Gold status, we didn't have to wait and were greeted directly at the Honors reception desk. We had already checked in via the Hilton app and received a room in the Executive area. But the friendly receptionist surprised us with another upgrade: our booked King Deluxe room was upgraded to a Penthouse Suite \u2013 our best room upgrade yet! Beaming with joy, we quickly signed the prepared forms and took the elevator to the 15th floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What are the rooms (Penthouse Suite) like at the Hilton Vienna Park?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Hilton Vienna Park offers nine different suites ranging in size from 38 to 235 square meters, all located on the top floor. Our Penthouse Suite, at 65 square meters, was in the middle. Access to the Executive Lounge with complimentary snacks and drinks was also included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    From the entrance, we went straight ahead to the guest toilet, to the right to the bedroom, and to the left to the large living room. Along the living room wall was a comfortable five-meter-long sofa upholstered in light brown fabric with dark brown cushions. In the middle of the room was a round conference table with three chairs. Upon our arrival, there was an extensive welcome offering on the table, consisting of "Wiener Trilogie" red wine, water, a fruit bowl, and the traditional Manner waffles. On the sideboard next to it was the fully stocked minibar. An additional bottle of mineral water and a coffee\/tea maker were also available there. A flat-screen TV and a desk were also included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A narrow balcony stretches the entire length of the penthouse suite. However, it was more than enough to get some fresh air and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Stadtpark, St. Stephen's Cathedral, and the rest of Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On the way to the sleeping area, there was a large wardrobe on the right. Opposite was the spacious bathroom with a bathtub, walk-in shower, and toilet. We particularly liked the generous counter space by the sink and the large mirror. In the bedroom, in addition to the baby cot we had ordered, there was a double bed, a lounger, and a flat-screen TV. Unfortunately, there were no power outlets in the bedside tables. Access to the balcony was also possible from the bedroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is breakfast like at the Hilton Vienna Park?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Breakfast is served daily until 11 a.m. in the hotel's S'Parks restaurant. During our weekend stay, it was already very busy by 8 a.m., so there were only a few free tables. If you're planning to have breakfast with a larger group, it's definitely a good idea to reserve a table the evening before. Since there was a special area reserved for Hilton Honors guests, even the five of us had no trouble finding a table. Upon arriving at our table, we were immediately greeted by the wait staff and offered coffee or orange juice. In general, the waiters were very friendly and quick to clear away used dishes and refill drinks. That's the kind of service I'd expect in a four-star hotel!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The breakfast buffet at the Hilton Vienna Park was very diverse. In addition to the typical hot dishes like scrambled eggs, beans, and bacon, they also offered dim sum and fried noodles. There was also a large selection of breads, pastries, and cakes. The buffet was rounded out by a waffle machine, various yogurts, cereals, and fruit or fruit salad. An open kitchenette also offered egg dishes, pancakes, or waffles. Of course, I couldn't miss this opportunity and ordered eggs Benedict, one of my favorite dishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    At the exit of the S'Parks restaurant, there was also a small buffet with snacks, fruit, and water. We stocked up on a few things for the day here. Excellent service and a great idea!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is the Executive Lounge like at the Hilton Vienna Park?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Executive Lounge of the Hilton Vienna Park was located on the 12th floor. It was open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Access control was automated, requiring only an activated room card for entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The lounge was divided into three seating areas. Each room contained several tables and chairs, with one room featuring a small, cozy seating area. The space was generally sufficient during our visits. However, during happy hour, it did get very crowded for a short time, so not every guest could find a seat. The service staff, however, always made an effort and even made the unoccupied desk at the lounge reception available for eating. An Apple iMac and a PC were also available for quick internet research or other work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Guests in an Executive Room had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast in the Hilton Vienna lounge from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (Sat & Sun 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.). Afternoon tea with cakes and small snacks was also served from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Finally, there was a happy hour in the evening from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a variety of hot and cold snacks and alcoholic beverages. The selection of alcoholic beverages was plentiful and included beer (G\u00f6sser, Becks, and Franziskaner), Prosecco, a red and white wine, and various spirits. There was also a fully automatic coffee machine, water, juices, and soft drinks. All in all, a very good and delicious offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dinner at S'Parks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We had reserved a table at the hotel restaurant S'Parks for Saturday evening. Our young son was lovingly looked after by his grandparents, so we as parents could enjoy dinner in peace for the first time. The menu offered a clear selection of innovative creations of classic and modern Austrian cuisine using local ingredients. I opted for a Wiener Schnitzel made from suckling veal with green salad and parsley potatoes. Christin had an asparagus risotto with wild garlic oil. A first-class choice for both of us! Although we were full after the main course, we were thankfully persuaded to have dessert. The Marchfeld strawberries with meringue, woodruff jelly, and strawberry cheesecake ice cream were simply delicious. A fantastic ending!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
