We definitely wanted to make a stopover on our way to the Swiss Alps. As I had worked in Nuremberg for nine months during my studies, it made sense to visit the city again. Surprisingly, I found the Hilton Nuremberg at a very favourable price. You can find out what our impressions of the hotel were in this report.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Arrival and check-in<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Despite the large windows, the lobby of the Hilton Nuremberg seemed a bit dark to us. However, the friendly employee at check-in was able to improve our initial impression somewhat. According to him, the hotel was unfortunately fully booked. Therefore, we received neither an upgrade as HHonors Gold members nor a room on a higher floor, as indicated in our profile. Since the Hilton Nuremberg also doesn't have an Executive Lounge, we received a voucher for two drinks at the bar as compensation. Finally, he explained where the fitness center was located and that, as guests, we were invited to use the public outdoor swimming pool of 1. FC Nuremberg free of charge during the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Where is the Hilton Nuremberg located?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Hilton Nuremberg is located just outside the city center, bordering the training grounds of 1. FC Nuremberg and the Lorenzer Forest. A dream for football fans, as you can watch the team train from your hotel room. Ample free parking is available directly in front of the hotel. Seven of these spaces are reserved exclusively for HHonors members (three for HHonors Diamond members).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What are the rooms like at the Hilton Nuremberg?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Our room (number 128) was located directly above the reception on the hotel's first floor. Behind the entrance door was a wardrobe with a safe. To the right of the hallway was a small, windowless bathroom with a bathtub. Next to the sink was a large mirror and a sufficient supply of toiletries by Peter Thomas Roth. Better lighting for the mirror would have been desirable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The bedroom\/living area of the room was separated from the hallway by an additional door. This minimized the noise level from outside. The room contained a large and very comfortable king-size bed with a nightstand on the left side. On the nightstand was the typical Hilton clock radio and a folder with hotel information. Unfortunately, there was no free power outlet by the bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A coffee table and an armchair stood by the window. Our welcome gift, consisting of a personalized card, two chocolates, and two bottles of mineral water, was also there. Opposite the bed, there was a desk, an empty minibar, a coffee station with a kettle, and a television. The desk, however, was very narrow and didn't offer much space for a larger laptop. We could use the free Wi-Fi on up to three devices simultaneously (via voucher). Those with a taste for nostalgia could also use the museum-worthy Bosch communication box that sat on the desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In summary, the design and furnishings of the rooms at the Hilton Nuremberg are somewhat dated. However, they are in very good condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What is the breakfast like at the Hilton Nuremberg?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Breakfast was served from 6:30 a.m. in the L'Oliva restaurant on the ground floor of the Hilton Nuremberg. We were staying at the hotel on a weekend, and despite the Hilton Nuremberg being fully booked, we didn't have to wait for a table. We had the choice of eating breakfast inside or on the terrace. As I would expect from a 4-star hotel, the tables were set, and hot drinks and juices were served directly to our tables by the waitstaff. The buffet offered a good mix of hot and cold dishes. In addition, freshly prepared egg and pastry dishes could be ordered free of charge. However, I was disappointed by my ordered pancakes, which turned out to be a pre-made product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
